SEPTEMBER 28 – SPIRITUAL

09/28               1 Timothy 4:8

8 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

SPIRITUAL

Spiritual training is exceedingly harder than physical training.  It involves trust and belief that result in obedience.  It is so hard for us to trust, harder yet to believe and almost impossible for us to be consistent in our obedience.  So who can be saved?  Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved.  Whosoever!

SEPTEMBER 27 – TRUTH

09/27               1 Timothy 3:16

16 Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

TRUTH

This is truth without any mixture of fable or untruth.  God in Christ is our Savior.  He paid the price of our sin-His blood cleanses us from unrighteousness. We know we are sinners and still Jesus died for us while we were still dead in our trespasses and sin.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow.  Jesus is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 26 – KEY

09/26               Proverbs 22:29

29 Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people.

KEY

Key personnel know they are important.  They work hard, listen well and follow the Lord.  The Lord is always seeking to speak with us but too often we are too busy to listen.  Spend time with Jesus and He will tell you the way you should go.  Jesus loves you.

SEPTEMBER 25 – CHANGE

09/25               Proverbs 4:23

23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

CHANGE

We must change the way we live our life.  No longer can I be satisfied with struggling to do things my own way and at the moment that I self-destruct call in Jesus to fix it.  Jesus equips us to control the radical nature of our life from a position of obedience and submission.  Serve the Lord with gladness and He will direct your life.

SEPTEMBER 24 – WHINE

09/24               Philippians 4:13

13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

WHINE

Do not whine about the difficulty and chaos of your life.  Get busy praising God, and glorifying Him for His precious Son-Jesus.  Take each and every thing that you face to Jesus and He will lead, guide and direct you to the right thing to do.  Fear God and do what He says.  This is true wisdom.

SEPTEMBER 23 – EVERY

09/23               Philippians 4:4-5

4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.

EVERY

Every day is a good day.  Every life is a valuable life.  Jesus is coming soon and He will make the wrong right and chaos and evil in this world disappear.  He is Lord-Lord of all.

SEPTEMBER 22 – KING

09/22               Philippians 2:9-11

9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

KING

Jesus is the King-He is Lord of Lords and reigns over all things.  He is God’s everything, the bright and morning star, the ancient of days, and true God.  We have fellowship with Him and He is alive and well ministering in our lives.  One day He is coming back.  We do not know the day or the hour but we do know that in that moment every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord of all.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

SEPTEMBER 21 – BE

09/21          Philippians 2:4-6

4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. 5You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.

BE

Be usable.  Be a giver.  Be available for those in need.  Listen to what people say.  Look at what they do.  Help those in need.

SEPTEMBER 20 – ONE

09/20          Philippians 2:3

3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

ONE

People are number one.  We are valuable and worthy therefore we can care for and give to others.  Care about those around.  Care about those in need.  Don’t worry about yourself-serve.  The Lord is focused on you and He will care for you.

SEPTEMBER 19 – GIVE

09/19          Matthew 20:25-28

25 But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. 28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

GIVE

Give is the key.  We must give what we have, who we are and to whoever is in need.  Giving is critical for spiritual growth.  I limit my growth when I am stingy and self-centered.  Jesus gave His life for us.  We are called to die to self and care for others.
