MAY 22 – SALVATION

05/22          1 Thessalonians 5:7-8

Night is the time for sleep and the time when people get drunk. 8 But let us who live in the light think clearly, protected by the body armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.

SALVATION

Salvation is a gift. Trust the Lord. He provides your salvation. He protects your salvation. Salvation is eternal. Jesus will never let you go.

MAY 21 – ALERT

05/21          1 Thessalonians 5:4

But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. 5 For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. 6 So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be sober.

ALERT

Be alert, pay attention for the Evil One is prowling about seeking whom he might devour. Jesus is coming back. Be ready. Stand fast. Live right. Jesus is alive.

MAY 20 – READY

05/20          1 Thessalonians 5:3

When people are saying, “All is well; everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall upon them as suddenly as a woman’s birth pains begin when her child is about to be born. And there will be no escape.

READY

Be ready in season and out of season. We do not know the day or the hour but we do know that Jesus is coming back. Be ready. It will happen in an instant. Be ready.

MAY 19 – WHEN

05/19          1 Thessalonians 5:1-2

1 I really don’t need to write to you about how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters. 2 For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.

WHEN
Jesus is coming back when the Lord God Almighty says. No one knows the day or the hour. Don’t waste your time trying to find out the hidden things of God. Do the things you know to do: Love the Lord with all of your heart and love one another as you love yourself.

MAY 18 – COMFORT

05/18          1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

I can tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. 18 So comfort and encourage each other with these words.

COMFORT
Listen to those around you. Help them. Guide them in the way of Jesus. Care for them. Love them. Be the hands and feet of Jesus to them. Jesus is Lord.

MAY 17 – EQUAL

05/17          1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

And now, brothers and sisters, I want you to know what will happen to the Christians who have died so you will not be full of sorrow like people who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus comes, God will bring back with Jesus all the Christians who have died.

EQUAL
We are equal in the sight of the Lord because Jesus died for our sin and gives us the free gift of eternal life, life like His and the Father sees us in Jesus. He is our Lord, He is Lord and we are in His family.

MAY 16 – DO

05/16          1 Thessalonians 4:12

As a result, people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others to meet your financial needs.

DO

Be a child of God. Be the person Jesus created you to be. Do what He says and connect with people.   Jesus died for people.

MAY 15 – LIFE

05/15          1 Thessalonians 4:11

This should be your ambition: to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we commanded you before.

LIFE

My life is focused on Jesus. When we focus our life on Him the things we do and say change. No longer in constant chaos we have purpose and mercy each day. Jesus is seeking to connect with us and lead us in the way of love.

THE GODLY MAN – PSALM 1

Don’t walk on the wild side, evil commands each day

Nor stand with sinners, irreverent-hard hearted-don’t play

Sitting down with sly men, committed to selfish sin

Only causes failure, for a man trying to win

Focus your mind on God, He is worthy of every thought

His law brings wisdom, mercy and grace; His Word changes your heart

Think on these things; let them marinate your soul

The Lord is with you; He will not let you go

As evil ebbs and flows you will stand; storms will not get the upper hand

Your life will be fruitful; everything you turn yourself to will grow

Not so the wicked, there is a day of death

Everything they’ve worked for will blow away like chaff

Judgment will destroy the wicked, God will not let them off

Their way will perish, disappear, no longer will they hold sway

The wicked are headed to a mean and evil existence, perdition, hell, apart from God

The Godly man has Jesus as His Lord, Christ is God’s everything and He is for you

MAY 14 – LOVE

05/14          1 Thessalonians 4:10

Indeed, your love is already strong toward all the Christians in all of Macedonia. Even so, dear brothers and sisters, we beg you to love them more and more.

LOVE

Love on another. That means to love people where you are and where you go. People count with Jesus and they should count with us. Discover the people in close proximity to your life. Love them and they will be changed.

MAY 13 – LORD

05/13          1 Thessalonians 4:9

But I don’t need to write to you about the Christian love that should be shown among God’s people. For God himself has taught you to love one another.

LORD

Jesus is Lord. He is able to teach us to love one another and to love Him with all your might and your heart.
