DEC. 12 – MT. 2:11

12/12          Matthew 2:11

11 They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

KINGS

Kings came and honored Him.

Traveled far with amazing gifts.

His story began and His family witnessed it.

Jesus Lord and Savior, born in a manger, worshipped by pagan kings.

The world would never be the same.

Praise God for His glorious Son.

DEC. 11 – JOHN 1:14

12/11          John 1:14

14So the Word became human[a] and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.[b] And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

God with us.

His glory on display.

He loved us and walked with us.

He knew our pain and all the chaos we experience.

He knew no sin, it was not in Him.

To the cross to die and pay a price we could not pay.

God is still with us.

Jesus loves you.

DEC. 10 – ISAIAH 9:6

12/10          Isaiah 9:6

6 For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
    And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor,[a] Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

MESSIAH

Messiah predicted.

Messiah came with salvation.

Soon Messiah is coming back in judgment to take His people home.

DEC. 9 – MT. 26:41

12/09          Matthew 26:41

41Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”

DAILY

Daily I wander, trying my own way and it blunders.

Careening into concrete walls of sin, oh Lord here I am again.

Forgive me, make me whole.

Help me be solid, controlled and under your control.

Keep short accounts with God.

Life is too hard without Jesus.

DEC. 8 – JOHN 15:4

12/08          John 15:4

4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

HERE

Here I stand by God’s Holy Spirit.

I will never walk away again,

For alone I am by myself, but with God I am indestructible.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

I have nowhere else I can be.

DEC. 7 – PS. 22:1-5

12/07          Psalm 22:1-5

1 My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
Why are you so far away when I groan for help?
2 Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer.
Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief.

3 Yet you are holy,
enthroned on the praises of Israel.
4 Our ancestors trusted in you,
    and you rescued them.
5 They cried out to you and were saved.
They trusted in you and were never disgraced.

FAR

At times He seems so far away,

But I’m the one who moved.

At times I feel His presence, He knows my name,

He created me and knows why I came.

I cried out to Him and He saved me.

Praise God I am whole.

DEC. 6 – PSALM 32:1-2

12/06          Psalm 32:1-2

1 Oh, what joy for those
    whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight!
2 Yes, what joy for those
whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt,[b]
whose lives are lived in complete honesty!

BLESSED

I am blessed to be a child of God.

Jesus saved me.

The forgiveness of my sin and saving my soul,

The Love of God in Christ has made me whole.

Jesus loves me and He has saved me.

DEC. 5 – MATTHEW 27:46

12/05          Matthew 27:46

46 At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,[a] lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”
FELT

He felt our pain, our sinfulness.

He knew what was happening.

He knew what we needed.

He also knew we needed a way into the family of God.

He was willing to pay our price.

Dear God, help us tell the story.

Whatever it takes to help people avoid eternal separation from God.  Jesus is Lord.

DEC. 4 – PS. 89:1-4

12/04          Psalm 89:1-4

1 I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever!
Young and old will hear of your faithfulness.
2 Your unfailing love will last forever.
Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.

3 The Lord said, “I have made a covenant with David, my chosen servant.
I have sworn this oath to him:
4 ‘I will establish your descendants as kings forever;
they will sit on your throne from now until eternity.’”

MESSIAH

The Covenant.

Fulfilled.

Jesus is Lord.

DEC. 3 – PSALM 126

12/03          Psalm 126

1 When the LORD brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream!

2 We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the LORD has done for them.”

3 Yes, the LORD has done amazing things for us! What joy!

4 Restore our fortunes, LORD, as streams renew the desert.

5 Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.

6 They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.

AMAZING

Our Lord does amazing things for us.

He is God.

He knew us before we were born.

There is no place we can hide from God.

We are sojourners here on Earth.

One day soon we will be with the our Father.

He is King of the Universe.

He loves me.
