09/03 Psalm 120:3-4
O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment? 4 You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.
CAREFUL
We need to be careful with what we say. We do not have to apologize for what we don’t say. Speak words of encouragement and love one another.

Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.
SAFE
We are safe in the hands of Jesus. He knows what we are facing and what we will face and will gladly give us the wisdom we need to walk each moment with Him. The Lord is always good. He is good to us.
09/01 Psalm 120:1
A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.
LISTENS
The Lord listens to us. He is interested and willing to hear us out and take us in. Jesus loves us with a breadth and depth that we cannot comprehend. Jesus is Lord.
08/31 John 5:46
But if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me because he wrote about me. 47 And since you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?”
TESTIMONY
THE Lord is speaking to us in His Word, HIS testimony teaching us about Jesus and life. We know Him and learn about ourselves in His Word. His Word is alive and is written to us so that we might not be overwhelmed by evil. Serve the Lord with gladness, serving only Him and not us or some other person. Jesus is Lord of all and He loves us.
08/30 John 5:44-45
No wonder you can’t believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don’t care about the honor that comes from God alone. 45 “Yet it is not I who will accuse you of this before the Father. Moses will accuse you! Yes, Moses, on whom you set your hopes.
FOCUS
We are to serve the Lord and His will. We are to set aside our own selfish ambition, forget the claims of those seeking to Lord it over us and know the Lord. We are here to accomplish the Father’s purpose not our purpose. Today we need to focus on the Lord Jesus and His goals for our life; forgetting the limelight and serving in the Lord’s spotlight.
08/29 John 5:41-43
“Your approval or disapproval means nothing to me, 42 because I know you don’t have God’s love within you. 43 For I have come to you representing my Father, and you refuse to welcome me, even though you readily accept others who represent only themselves.
JESUS
We don’t debate the merits of Jesus nor do we stand in judgment of whether He is what He says He is. We are given opportunity to believe in Jesus or not believe-our choice. But when we believe in Jesus we are brought into the Family of God-God is our Father – and we have access to and a relationship with Jesus.
08/28 John 5:40
Yet you refuse to come to me so that I can give you this eternal life.
JESUS
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. The only way to the Father is in Jesus Christ. Go to Jesus. Believe in Jesus. You will have eternal life and life right now. The Eternal Christ is Lord, He is life giving and He is seeking you.
08/27 John 5:39
“You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!
LIFE
THE SCRIPTURES don’t give life they give guidance. They all point to Jesus. Read the Word, know Jesus and you will discover that your daily walk is a guided, undergirded walk. Jesus is alive and He is ministering to and through you.
08/26 John 5:37-38
And the Father himself has also testified about me. You have never heard his voice or seen him face-to-face, 38 and you do not have his message in your hearts, because you do not believe me — the one he sent to you.
BELIEVE
Believe in Jesus and you will know the Father. They are ONE and distinctly two. His Word comes to us to heal, to reveal, to minister, to change and many other things involved with giving us real life in Jesus. Jesus is the one and only SON and He is looking for you.
08/25 John 5:34-36
But the best testimony about me is not from a man, though I have reminded you about John’s testimony so you might be saved. 35 John shone brightly for a while, and you benefited and rejoiced. 36 But I have a greater witness than John — my teachings and my miracles. They have been assigned to me by the Father, and they testify that the Father has sent me.
KNOW
We know Him. He is Lord and His work in our life demonstrates His teaching and His miracles. Don’t overlook miracles as luck or odd or happenstance. Recognize His work in your life and learn to expect His activity. Jesus is alive and He is active in our daily life.
