6/12 John 10:1-5
1 “I assure you, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! 2 For a shepherd enters through the gate. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they recognize his voice. 5 They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t recognize his voice.”
SHEPHERD
Jesus is our shepherd. We recognize His voice. We are part of His family. As we look at His Word and spend time with Him, we get to know Him and know when He is speaking with us. Today whatever you face remember that Jesus knows your name and He is your shepherd.

6/11 1 Peter 2:15-25
15 It is God’s will that your good lives should silence those who make foolish accusations against you. 16 You are not slaves; you are free. But your freedom is not an excuse to do evil. You are free to live as God’s slaves. 17 Show respect for everyone. Love your Christian brothers and sisters. Fear God. Show respect for the king. 18 You who are slaves must accept the authority of your masters. Do whatever they tell you — not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are harsh. 19 For God is pleased with you when, for the sake of your conscience, you patiently endure unfair treatment. 20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing right and are patient beneath the blows, God is pleased with you. 21 This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps. 22 He never sinned, and he never deceived anyone. 23 He did not retaliate when he was insulted. When he suffered, he did not threaten to get even. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly. 24 He personally carried away our sins in his own body on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. You have been healed by his wounds! 25 Once you were wandering like lost sheep. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.
HUMILITY
Submission to Christ teaches humility. It is a trait we desperately need to learn. We are a nation of violent people unwilling to reach out in submission to others. Too often might makes right. We don’t need might to do God’s will in actuality we need humility. The question is will I obey the Lord? If I do obey Him then I must serve Him and the only way I can serve Him is from a mindset of humility.
6/10 1 Peter 2:11-14
11 Dear brothers and sisters, you are foreigners and aliens here. So I warn you to keep away from evil desires because they fight against your very souls. 12 Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors. Even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God when he comes to judge the world. 13 For the Lord’s sake, accept all authority — the king as head of state, 14 and the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish all who do wrong and to honor those who do right.
I WILL
I will follow God’s plan for this life. He has appointed folks to take care of the rules and regulations of life – honor them and the Lord will honor you. Remember that Jesus is coming back. This day is a day of preparation for His return. Live as though Jesus were coming back immediately. Let His direction change your life.
6/09 1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a kingdom of priests, God’s holy nation, his very own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 10 “Once you were not a people; now you are the people of God. Once you received none of God’s mercy; now you have received his mercy.”
ONCE
Once you were dead in your trespasses and sin and now you are alive in Christ Jesus. Change the way you life. Even now you have let your former faithfulness fade and been overcome by the cares and worries of the world. Seek the Lord and His face and follow Him all the days of your life.
6/08 1Peter 2:6-8
6 As the Scriptures express it, “I am placing a stone in Jerusalem, a chosen cornerstone, and anyone who believes in him will never be disappointed. ” 7 Yes, he is very precious to you who believe. But for those who reject him, “The stone that was rejected by the builders has now become the cornerstone.” 8 And the Scriptures also say, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that will make them fall.” They stumble because they do not listen to God’s word or obey it, and so they meet the fate that has been planned for them.
LISTEN
Listen to the Lord. Listen as He instructs you in what to do. Listen as He points out your sin. We should not argue with God instead we should listen to Him and do what He says. Jesus is Lord
6/07 1 Peter 2:4-5
4 Come to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by the people, but he is precious to God who chose him. 5 And now God is building you, as living stones, into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are God’s holy priests, who offer the spiritual sacrifices that please him because of Jesus Christ.
OBEDIENCE
The Lord loves our obedience. It is right to please the Lord therefore I will obey Him. Today Father help me to do only those things that please you.
6/06 1 Peter 2:1-3
1 So get rid of all malicious behavior and deceit. Don’t just pretend to be good! Be done with hypocrisy and jealousy and backstabbing. 2 You must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk, 3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.
YES
Yes Lord I hear you and will change the way I act. I am called to know the Lord. As I know Him I will set aside those things I do which offend the Lord. One thing I know that offends the Father is my sin. Cleanse me from my unrighteousness Lord and use me in Your perfect way.
6/05 Psalm 25:15-22
15 My eyes are always looking to the LORD for help, for he alone can rescue me from the traps of my enemies. 16 Turn to me and have mercy on me, for I am alone and in deep distress. 17 My problems go from bad to worse. Oh, save me from them all! 18 Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins. 19 See how many enemies I have, and how viciously they hate me! 20 Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for I trust in you. 21 May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you. 22 O God, ransom Israel from all its troubles.
CONTROL
When life is out of control and everything if chaotic turn to Jesus. Ask Him to save you. Seek His strength. Let Him have control of you and He will change the chaos around you from absolute failure to outstanding hope. The Lord will deliver you.
6/04 Psalm 25:8-14
8 The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. 9 He leads the humble in what is right, teaching them his way. 10 The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all those who keep his covenant and obey his decrees. 11 For the honor of your name, O LORD, forgive my many, many sins. 12 Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose. 13 They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the Promised Land. 14 Friendship with the LORD is reserved for those who fear him. With them he shares the secrets of his covenant.
FEAR
Fear of the Lord by His children involves reverence and awe, hatred of evil and obedience to God. As we develop our spiritual life in friendship with Him we will bend our knee to the Lord and fear Him.
6/03 Psalm 25:1-7
1 A psalm of David. To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. 2 I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. 3 No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. 4 Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow. 5 Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. 6 Remember, O LORD, your unfailing love and compassion, which you have shown from long ages past. 7 Forgive the rebellious sins of my youth; look instead through the eyes of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O LORD.
TRUST
Trust is a foundation stone upon which we build our relationship with Jesus. Our life will change as we grow in our relationship with the Lord. Our trust will underscore everything we do as we seek to follow Jesus. Hope in the Lord.
