AUGUST 5 – LORD

8/5 Psalm 7:14-17
The wicked conceive evil; they are pregnant with trouble and give birth to lies. They dig a pit to trap others and then fall into it themselves. They make trouble, but it backfires on them. They plan violence for others, but it falls on their own heads. I will thank the LORD because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
LORD
The Lord is wonderful, amazing, faithful, all knowing, worthy of all praise and He is concerned about each one of us. He does not think like we think. His ways are high above our ways. We serve a loving and caring Lord.

AUGUST 4 – REPENT

8/4 Psalm 7:12-13
If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. He will prepare his deadly weapons and ignite his flaming arrows.
REPENT
We try to gloss over our sin. We want our own way. It is hard for us to confront the fact that we are a sinner and that sin comes so easily to each one of us. Jesus calls us to confront our sin, renounce it and turn away from that sin. Let the Lord reveal you sin and when He does agree with Him that you did it and now will turn away from it. Repent.

AUGUST 3 – FEAR

8/3 Psalm 7:9-11
End the wickedness of the ungodly, but help all those who obey you. For you look deep within the mind and heart, O righteous God. God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right. God is a judge who is perfectly fair. He is angry with the wicked every day.
FEAR
Our society creates a mindset where we fear the shadows and ignore the truth. The shadows consist of the attacks of the enemy in our minds and our own sense of insecurity at anything that appears to be harmful. We fear most the bodily harm that could befall us. Our real fear should be reserved for the One that can destroy us forever. Fear God that is the beginning of wisdom. God responded to our fear in Jesus Christ. He gives us His righteousness and cures the fear we would otherwise feel in the presence of a Holy God.

AUGUST 2 – COMFORT

8/2 Psalm 7:6-8
Arise, O LORD, in anger! Stand up against the fury of my enemies! Wake up, my God, and bring justice! Gather the nations before you. Sit on your throne high above them. The LORD passes judgment on the nations. Declare me righteous, O LORD, for I am innocent, O Most High!
COMFORT
It is a comfort to know that we can talk with the Lord about anything and everything. He hears us and every thought that the Lord has towards us His children is a thought for good. Trust in the Lord and He will be faithful.

AUGUST 1 – PROTECTION

8/1 Psalm 7:1-5
A psalm of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning Cush of the tribe of Benjamin. I come to you for protection, O LORD my God. Save me from my persecutors — rescue me! If you don’t, they will maul me like a lion, tearing me to pieces with no one to rescue me. O LORD my God, if I have done wrong or am guilty of injustice, if I have betrayed a friend or plundered my enemy without cause, then let my enemies capture me. Let them trample me into the ground. Let my honor be left in the dust. Interlude
PROTECTION
Talk with the Lord about all of your life. Always feel free to cry out to your Father when you are in need of special help. Express your heart with the Lord. This is not so that the Lord will know what you think but that you will know what you think. Be specific in your prayer. Seek the Lord’s guidance and deliverance when you need it.

JULY 31 – TELL

7/31 Colossians 1:24-29
I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am completing what remains of Christ’s sufferings for his body, the church. God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his message in all its fullness to you Gentiles. This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to his own holy people. For it has pleased God to tell his people that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. For this is the secret: Christ lives in you, and this is your assurance that you will share in his glory. So everywhere we go, we tell everyone about Christ. We warn them and teach them with all the wisdom God has given us, for we want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. I work very hard at this, as I depend on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.
TELL
We tell others about Jesus by the way we live. Of course we tell them with our words but they see what we do and that inscribes an indelible mark on their minds and their hearts. If God has changed us they will see our joy, they will experience the love of Christ in us and they will want it too! Today tell someone about Jesus by what you say and how you live.

JULY 30 – BELIEVE

7/30 Colossians 1:21-23
This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now he has brought you back as his friends. He has done this through his death on the cross in his own human body. As a result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. But you must continue to believe this truth and stand in it firmly. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed by God to proclaim it.
BELIEVE
It is your choice. Believe the Lord or do not believe the Lord. One element that we may overlook in belief is that our beliefs change our lives. In Christ we move forward with real love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and all other things connected with life. Without Jesus life becomes a crap shoot-our view always clouded by what may or may not happen.

JULY 29 – BLOOD

7/29 Colossians 1:19-20
For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and by him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross.
BLOOD
The sacrifice by Jesus on the cross, the shedding of His blood, gives us the gift of life. This is impossible for us to comprehend except that it happened and the Lord says that is the result of his sacrifice-the offer of life to us. You may not like it and you may not believe it but that doesn’t change anything because it happened. The Lord loves you and is seeking to give you life.

JULY 28 – EVERYTHING

7/28 Colossians 1:16-18
Christ is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see — kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities. Everything has been created through him and for him. He existed before everything else began, and he holds all creation together. Christ is the head of the church, which is his body. He is the first of all who will rise from the dead, so he is first in everything.
EVERYTHING
JESUS is God’s everything. He is able to create us, mend us, protect us, equip us and save us unto eternity. Jesus is able to do everything that we, His creation, need forever. There is no one else, nothing else that we need to establish and maintain an eternal relationship with the Father.

JULY 27 – FREEDOM

7/27 Colossians 1:14-15
God has purchased our freedom with his blood and has forgiven all our sins. Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before God made anything at all and is supreme over all creation.
FREEDOM
We are free in Christ and can understand the eteral God by the visible image of Jesus-God is love. He loves you. He loves me. His love is able to change us from a life of sin and darkness to a life of light and righteousness. Today thank the Lord for His wonderful gift of Jesus Christ. He is LORD.
