SEPTEMBER 9 – WORSHIP

9/9 Psalm 10:16
The LORD is king forever and ever! Let those who worship other gods be swept from the land.
WORSHIP
We worship a living God. He is alive today and living in His followers. Nothing can compete with Jesus. No matter how the world protests and it does protest the world cannot deny the fact that Jesus is Lord. He is Lord and creator of all things. Trust in the Lord and you will always be safe in His hands.

SEPTEMBER 8 – NEED

9/8 Psalm 10:14-15
But you do see the trouble and grief they cause. You take note of it and punish them. The helpless put their trust in you. You are the defender of orphans. Break the arms of these wicked, evil people! Go after them until the last one is destroyed!
NEED
Our need is great. The activity of evil in the world is significant and much more than we realize. The Lord defends us against evil. Even though it may seem that evil has the upper hand if you will depend upon the Lord His promise to you is that you will not be overrun by evil. Nothing can separate you from the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

SEPTEMBER 7 – WICKED

9/7 Psalm 10:12-13
Arise, O LORD! Punish the wicked, O God! Do not forget the helpless! Why do the wicked get away with cursing God? How can they think, “God will never call us to account”?
WICKED
Evil distorts our thinking. We become obsessed with our own thoughts and do not recognize the slavery we are in to sin. Wickedness is actively opposed to God and when we are caught up in evil and complacent with our wickedness we are blind to the reality of existence-God is in control. We are dead in our trespasses and sin and cannot comprehend the things of God.

SEPTEMBER 6 – LIE

9/6 Psalm 10:10-11
The helpless are overwhelmed and collapse; they fall beneath the strength of the wicked. The wicked say to themselves, “God isn’t watching! He will never notice!”
LIE
The great LIE is that what I do won’t make a difference. It will. Everything we do adds up in our life. One sin unnoticed leads to another. One day we find that we have gone further into sin than we every thought we would. The journey to return from sin seems so beyond our strength and it is. Jesus is able to deal with our sin and bring us back to where we should be. Ask Him to take control of your life. Give Him your focus. In Christ you will overcome evil.

SEPTEMBER 5 – EVIL

9/5 Psalm 10:8-9
They lurk in dark alleys, murdering the innocent who pass by. They are always searching for some helpless victim. Like lions they crouch silently, waiting to pounce on the helpless. Like hunters they capture their victims and drag them away in nets.
EVIL
Evil is actively seeking to pull you down. Its goal is to make you fail. It is always striving to trip you up. It is never at rest. You are always under attack. Your weakness is known and evil is seeking to exploit it. In Jesus we find strength that is beyond our strength. The Lord can deal with evil-we cannot. Surrender your life to Jesus and He will deal with the evil that is seeking to destroy you.

SEPTEMBER 4 – TERMINAL

9/4 Psalm 10:6-7
They say to themselves, “Nothing bad will ever happen to us! We will be free of trouble forever!” Their mouths are full of cursing, lies, and threats. Trouble and evil are on the tips of their tongues.
TERMINAL
This is a true terminal illness. To ignore God and live as if He doesn’t exist is the very worst kind of blindness. Woe is the person that goes through this veil of tears without knowing the Lord. Seek the Lord. Wicked people repent and let the Lord have His way with you. It is a terrible thing to face death alone. To live day by day without the Lord is a horrible tragedy. Seek the Lord.

SEPTEMBER 3 – PRIDE

9/3 Psalm 10:4-5
These wicked people are too proud to seek God. They seem to think that God is dead. Yet they succeed in everything they do. They do not see your punishment awaiting them. They pour scorn on all their enemies.
PRIDE
Pride blinds us to reality. It destroys our wisdom and blackens our soul. Pride is the proud workman of evil. Where pride reigns destruction flourishes. Seek God. Set aside your pride. Give all honor and glory to God and ask Him to let you see your pride and destroy it. Do it quickly for there is no time. Life is fast and death is quick. Seek the Lord while He may be found.

SEPTEMBER 2 – FOOLISH

9/2 Psalm 10:3
For they brag about their evil desires; they praise the greedy and curse the LORD.
FOOLISH
Only foolish people go against God. He is eternal. They are like grass in the sun, for a moment it is lush and green then it turns brown and dies. Evil blinds a person from knowing God. Evil seeks to destroy the individual. Foolish is the person who declares there is no God and even worse when they live as if there was no God. The Lord is alive and He lives this very moment.

SEPTEMBER 1 – MISDIRECTION

9/1 Psalm 10:1-2
O LORD, why do you stand so far away? Why do you hide when I need you the most? Proud and wicked people viciously oppress the poor. Let them be caught in the evil they plan for others.
MISDIRECTION
Lord help me to recognize my position-without Christ I am one of those evil people. Cleanse me of sin. Remind me of my pride. Prod me to help the poor. Do not let me plan evil against another person. I am in your debt Lord for all of the good and glorious things you do for me. Help me to grow in grace and respond to others with a good attitude.

AUGUST 31 – SIN

8/31 Colossians 2:22-23
Such rules are mere human teaching about things that are gone as soon as we use them. These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, humility, and severe bodily discipline. But they have no effect when it comes to conquering a person’s evil thoughts and desires.
SIN
We are the repositories of all of our sin. Our mind seeks its own way. We cause our own problems. My sin is greater than all of the sin the world throws at me. Only when Jesus takes control of my life do I have a chance to deal with the sin in my life. My sin is pride, self-centeredness, seeking to take God’s place in my heart and refusing to walk God’s way. When Jesus forgives me for my sin I have a choice to make. Will I let the Lord control me or will I surrender control of my life and let Jesus have control of my?
