JUNE 4 – SHARING

06/04          Colossians 1:7

7You learned about the Good News from Epaphras, our beloved co-worker. He is Christ’s faithful servant, and he is helping us on your behalf.

SHARING

Sharing the Good News is something we all can do.  We simply tell others what Jesus has done in our life. When we focus on Christ and live as He calls us to live others will ask us how we can live the kind of life we are living.  The world is a place of darkness and failure whereas in Christ we live in a world of light that is filled with hope and peace.  Jesus is Lord.

JUNE 3 – NOW

06/03          Colossians 1:6

6 This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.

NOW

It is true that we are only one generation from paganism in society but it is also true that the Holy Spirit is confronting the world with the claims of Christ and that Jesus is avidly seeking the lost that they might be saved.  I want to share the Gospel that was given to me and am reminded that Jesus said on the day of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem if His followers were quietened even the rocks would cry out.  Share the Gospel for it is God’s GOOD NEWS to mankind.

JUNE 2 – KEY

06/02          Colossians 1:3-5

3 We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, 5 which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.

KEY

It is key aspect of our faith that we begin our eternal journey now when we become His child and that journey continues forever.  We are progressing in the Christian life to become more like Jesus until the day we stand before Him in heaven and live together with Him face to face forever. However bad or difficult life is remember it is going to improve for we are Children of God forever.

JUNE 1 – NEED

06/01          Colossians 1:1-2

1 This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy. 2 We are writing to God’s holy people in the city of Colosse, who are faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace.

NEED

We need His grace and His peace. Paul was serious about this.  His prayers certainly give us wisdom as we think about how we should pray.  The Lord pours out His grace (giving us what we need and cannot earn) upon us bountifully every day.  Without His grace none of us would succeed.  With His grace in Christ we have everything we need to function as His servant and in addition He gives us His peace-His assurance of His presence. Thank you Lord

MAY 31 – HELLO

5/31            1 Corinthians 14:33

33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.

HELLO

When everyone is talking and there is complete disorder so much so that one cannot hear a hello this is not of the Lord.  Our God is a God of order and orderliness.  Love the Lord and love His people.

MAY 30 – ENCOURAGER

5/30            Romans 14:17-19

17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. 19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.

ENCOURAGER

We are called to love one another and to be an encourager.  We focus on Jesus and listen to Him and care for those around us.  Love one another because Jesus loves you.

MAY 29 – FEAR

5/29            John 14:27

27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

FEAR

Jesus conquers our fear.  Focus your mind and heart on Christ and He will give you peace that passes understanding and it will set your soul, your heart at ease.  Jesus is our peace.

MAY 28 – LISTEN

5/28            John 16:33

33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

LISTEN

When you come to Jesus, listen to what He says.  He will give you wisdom, mercy, grace and understanding and guide you in the way you should go.  Jesus is Lord and He loves you.

MAY 27 – REST

5/27            Matthew 11:28-30

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

REST

When you are overwhelmed come to Jesus.  He will hear your need and fix whatever needs to be fixed.  He will not ignore you nor will He forget about you.  Jesus cares for you.

MAY 26 – LIVE

5/26            James 2:14-24

14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? 17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. 18 Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” 19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless? 21Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. 24 So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.

LIVE

Live like a Christian-a Christ follower.  Those who follow Jesus live as He calls us to live.  They love the Lord with all their heart and their brother or sister like they would like to be loved.  Jesus cares about people and so should we His followers.
