JULY 3 – CALL

July 3                          2 Timothy 4:1-2

1 I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: 2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

CALL

All of us are called to proclaim the Gospel.  Some of us are called to be church leaders.  Others are called to other positions of responsibility.  Every call includes a call to service to others. We are servants of the Lord High God and called to love one another.

JULY 2 – PROCESS

July 2                          2 Timothy 1:13-14

13 Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned from me—a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus. 14 Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.

PROCESS

There is a process of life that Christians follow.  Pray daily and without ceasing.  Bible reading.  Bible study. Church attendance.  Good works.  Caring for others.  All of these things are part of a Christian lifestyle.  Do these things and you will flourish   Spend time with Jesus and He will spend time with you.

JULY 1 – OBEY

July 1                          I Timothy 6:20

20 Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you. Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge.

OBEY

We are creatures of grace who are called to careful living. Obey God and live your life carefully. Pay attention to what you are doing and care for those around you.

JUNE 30 – CHANGE

June 30                       2 Timothy 2:22-24

22 Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. 23 Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. 24A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.

CHANGE

The Gospel calls for us to accept Jesus and become like Him.  We need to study His life and actions and build a dynamic relationship with Jesus so that we might live like Him.  Change from who we were to who the Lord wants us to be is required.  Jesus is Lord.

JUNE 29 – CHOICE

June 29                       2 Timothy 2:19

19 But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The LORD knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the LORD must turn away from evil.”

CHOICE

We have a choice.  We can choose to go our own way and follow the world.  We can also choose God’s way and follow Jesus Christ.  We can’t do both.

JUNE 28 – EVANGELISM

June 28                       2 Timothy 2:9-10

9 And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained.10 So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.

EVANGELISM

Evangelism will always cause suffering for the evangelizer.  The world hates Jesus.  If you tell the world about Jesus the world will hate you.  Jesus will see you through, He will not leave you and you will be able to rejoice in proclaiming the Gospel.

JUNE 27 – SUFFERING

June 27                       2 Timothy 2:3

3 Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

SUFFERING

All of us experience suffering.  All of us wish we didn’t have to and many try to medicate their suffering through worldly ways: drugs, alcohol, denial, etc.  The truth is suffering is part of the human experience.  If you are alive you will suffer.  The key is to recognize that the Lord protects us in our suffering and walks through the suffering with us.  Jesus is here.  Jesus is alive.  Jesus loves you.

JUNE 26 – NEED

June 26                       2 Timothy 2:1

1 Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus.

NEED

We desperately need grace.  Few realize how desperate their situation is but God in His wisdom provides grace for us even though we may not realize our great need at the time.  Grace is a gift that perfectly matches God’s resources to our need.

JUNE 25 – CARE

June 25                       2 Timothy 1:13-14

13 Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned from me—a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus. 14 Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.

CARE

We are to live our life with care.  Constant in prayer, consistent reading of the Word, and regularly sitting under faithful teaching.  We are to guard ourselves against the Evil One and to be wise in the way we live.

JUNE 24 – WASTE

June 24                       1 Timothy 6:20

20 Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you. Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge.

WASTE

Don’t waste your time.  So many things are not worth pursuing.  Jesus is the focus of our life.  Set aside those worldly things that entangle us and be faithful to the Lord.  Focus on Jesus.
