9/21 Psalm 129
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. From my earliest youth my enemies have persecuted me — let Israel now say — 2 from my earliest youth my enemies have persecuted me, but they have never been able to finish me off. 3 My back is covered with cuts, as if a farmer had plowed long furrows. 4 But the LORD is good; he has cut the cords used by the ungodly to bind me. 5 May all who hate Jerusalem be turned back in shameful defeat. 6 May they be as useless as grass on a rooftop, turning yellow when only half grown, 7 ignored by the harvester, despised by the binder. 8 And may those who pass by refuse to give them this blessing: “The LORD’s blessings be upon you; we bless you in the LORD’s name.”
BLESSING
This Psalm is a wonderful blessing to each one of us. It comes from our Father who loves us totally. Let Him have control of your heart. Give yourself to Jesus. He is worthy of all of our attention.

9/20 Psalm 128
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. How happy are those who fear the LORD — all who follow his ways! 2 You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How happy you will be! How rich your life! 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine, flourishing within your home. And look at all those children! There they sit around your table as vigorous and healthy as young olive trees. 4 That is the LORD’s reward for those who fear him. 5 May the LORD continually bless you from Zion. May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live. 6 May you live to enjoy your grandchildren. And may Israel have quietness and peace.
FOCUS
The Lord is good and is trustworthy. He has made significant promises to us, more than 7,000 in His Word. The only way we will be able to stand in the face of the enemies attack is to focus our mind and heart on Jesus. We need to always be aware that “greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
9/19 Psalm 127
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. A psalm of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is useless. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. 2 It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones. 3 Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. 4 Children born to a young man are like sharp arrows in a warrior’s hands. 5 How happy is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.
TRUST
The question is a question of trust and belief. Do you trust the promises the Lord has made to you? If you do you will trust HIM with the current moment. Jesus is with us and is always up to date on what is happening in our life.
9/18 Psalm 126
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. When the LORD restored his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! 2 We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the LORD has done for them.” 3 Yes, the LORD has done amazing things for us! What joy! 4 Restore our fortunes, LORD, as streams renew the desert. 5 Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. 6 They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.
AMAZING
What an amazing life the Lord fashions for us if we will follow Him. Each day is another opportunity to glorify the Father by living our life under His rule. Jesus is Lord and we can know Him. Amazing that the Lord loves us. Thank you Lord.
9/17 Psalm 125
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. Those who trust in the LORD are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever. 2 Just as the mountains surround and protect Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds and protects his people, both now and forever. 3 The wicked will not rule the godly, for then the godly might be forced to do wrong. 4 O LORD, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you. 5 But banish those who turn to crooked ways, O LORD. Take them away with those who do evil. And let Israel have quietness and peace.
TRUST
Trust in the Lord. Trust Him to change you. Trust Him to guide you. Trust Jesus to make your way straight to Him. Do not trust Jesus to do what you want, He is not a butler. Instead trust Jesus to do what you need to glorify the Lord with your life.
9/16 Psalm 124
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. A psalm of David. If the LORD had not been on our side — let Israel now say — 2 if the LORD had not been on our side when people rose up against us, 3 they would have swallowed us alive because of their burning anger against us. 4 The waters would have engulfed us; a torrent would have overwhelmed us. 5 Yes, the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives. 6 Blessed be the LORD, who did not let their teeth tear us apart! 7 We escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap. The trap is broken, and we are free! 8 Our help is from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth.
HELP
The Lord is our help. He is ready to take care of us. Jesus is our strength and courage. He will equip us to face each day, one day at a time. Give Him your failures and victories, your fears and strength and the Lord will one day at a time change you to be more like Jesus. Seek the Lord and let Him have His way with you. Your way will be the right way under His Lordship.
9/15 Psalm 123
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven. 2 We look to the LORD our God for his mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master, as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal. 3 Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy, for we have had our fill of contempt. 4 We have had our fill of the scoffing of the proud and the contempt of the arrogant.
FOCUS
Focus your life and heart on Jesus. He is worthy of our attention. He will guide us, protect us, encourage us, correct us, Jesus will do all of those things that will work together to shape us into the kind of person He called us to be. Focus your life and heart on Jesus.
9/14 Psalm 122
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. A psalm of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.” 2 And now we are standing here inside your gates, O Jerusalem. 3 Jerusalem is a well-built city, knit together as a single unit. 4 All the people of Israel — the LORD’s people — make their pilgrimage here. They come to give thanks to the name of the LORD as the law requires. 5 Here stand the thrones where judgment is given, the thrones of the dynasty of David. 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. 7 O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. 8 For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be with you.” 9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem.
PEACE
Please pray for peace in Jerusalem. It is consistently front page news with its chaos and fighting. We are called to pray for peace in Jerusalem. We are rewarded when we pray for peace in Jerusalem. My prayer is for peace in Jerusalem and peace in your life. Lord give us peace.
9/13 Psalm 121
1 A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. I look up to the mountains — does my help come from there? 2 My help comes from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth! 3 He will not let you stumble and fall; the one who watches over you will not sleep. 4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel never tires and never sleeps. 5 The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. 6 The sun will not hurt you by day, nor the moon at night. 7 The LORD keeps you from all evil and preserves your life. 8 The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
HELP
The Lord is our help. He is always near. He will not forget us and will always bring help on time. Stand where you are planted. Serve those you are with. Trust the Lord to effectively manage and guide your life.
9/12 Psalm 120:1
A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer. 2 Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people. 3 O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment? 4 You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals. 5 How I suffer among these scoundrels of Meshech! It pains me to live with these people from Kedar! 6 I am tired of living here among people who hate peace. 7 As for me, I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war!
LIAR
We all were once liars. We lied about important stuff and unimportant stuff because it was our nature. Now in Christ we have a new heart and a new life. Ask Jesus to help you deal with reality and stop lying especially to yourself. Jesus brings real truth to our life. Serve Him and Him alone.
