SEPT. 3 – 1 PETER 5:8-9

09/03          1 Peter 5:8-9

the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and all three agree. Since we believe human testimony, surely we can believe the greater testimony that comes from God. And God has testified about his Son.

SON

The Son of God, Jesus Christ, has come.

He came in a manger in Bethlehem.

He came to save us from our sin.

With His blood, He paid a price we could not pay.

His free gift to us is eternal life-life like God’s.

SEPT. 2 – 1 JOHN 1:8-9

09/02          1 John 1:8-9

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

SAY

Say to Jesus what you have done.

Express your request for forgiveness.

Turn from sin to service in Christ.

Focus on Jesus.  He is Lord.

SEPT. 1 – JAMES 4:7-8

09/01          James 4:7-8

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

STAND

Come, stand with Jesus.

Focus your life on Him.

Listen as He guides you.

Talk with Him about everything.

Trust in Him.  Do what He says, not just the things you like.

Exercise your faith and follow Him.

AUG. 31 – HEBREWS 13:2

8/31            Hebrews 13:2

2 Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!

ANGELS

Angels are spirit beings.

They serve God not man.

Always we will be in their presence when they are working.

No indication they have a vacation.

Yes, they are interested in what we are doing.

They do not interact with us.

We do not pray to them; they work only for the God-head.

You won’t know when you see one until maybe later.

Sometimes the Father has them take on a physical form to do His work.

You and I are called to care for one another.

In the process of doing our daily work for the Lord,

We will at times run into angels on mission.

Probably we will never know how often we have met angels.

They will never forget our graciousness in serving them.

The Father will always know every good deed we do.

But that is not part of our being saved.

Jesus is the only way to the Father.

He is Lord.

AUG. 30 – DANIEL 7:9-10

8/30            Daniel 7:9-10

9 I watched as thrones were put in place
and the Ancient One sat down to judge.
His clothing was as white as snow,
    his hair like purest wool.
He sat on a fiery throne
    with wheels of blazing fire,
10 and a river of fire was pouring out,
    flowing from his presence.
Millions of angels ministered to him;
many millions stood to attend him.
Then the court began its session,
    and the books were opened.

JUDGMENT

Judgment is coming.

Jesus is coming back.

You and I, HIS children will not face the White Throne judgment.

Jesus has paid our debt for sin.

We have become His children.

Jesus is Lord.

AUG. 29 – HEBREWS 2:6-7

8/29            Hebrews 2:6-7

6 For in one place the Scriptures say,

“What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
or a son of man[a] that you should care for him?
7 Yet for a little while you made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.[b]

SOON

Soon we will be reunited with our heavenly Father.

Soon we will stand before Jesus.

Soon, let us take up the good fight and

Run the race Jesus has outfitted us for.

Do not fear.  The Lord God Almighty fights for you,

Follow Him.

In that day we will be involved in judging angels.

AUG. 28 – HEBREWS 12:1

8/28            Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

HERE

Someone is watching.

I think it may include our friends.

Whoever it includes, they care for us and are rooting for us.

Jesus Christ is victory road.

The Holy Spirit is able to guide us.

The Father’s deep love for us keeps us on trajectory to Him.

AUG. 27 – JOB 1:6

8/27            Job 1:6

6 One day the members of the heavenly court[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan,[b] came with them.

DIFFICULT

This is difficult for us to understand.

How does this happen?

It happened because the Lord God Almighty permitted Satan to be there.

Sin is an adversary we cannot fight without the Holy Spirit.

We are flesh.

Satan is spirit.

We fight by faith.

We win by our faith in Jesus.

We are on Holy ground-let us persevere.

Let us press on toward the upward calling in Jesus Christ.

AUG. 26 – COLOSSIANS 1:16

8/26            Colossians 1:16

16 for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.

ALWAYS

Jesus was always with God.

He was the Creative Force in the Universe.

He came to earth to pay the price of our sin.

He did because He loves us.

By faith we can know Him.

Surrender-Believe-Jesus is our Savior.

Turn to Him and you will find your way.

AUG. 25 – PSALM 148:1-5

8/25            Psalm 148:1-5

1 Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens!
    Praise him from the skies!
2 Praise him, all his angels!
Praise him, all the armies of heaven!
3 Praise him, sun and moon!
Praise him, all you twinkling stars!
4 Praise him, skies above!
Praise him, vapors high above the clouds!
5 Let every created thing give praise to the Lord,
for he issued his command, and they came into being.

PRAISE

Praise the Lord everything,

Including me.

Praise the Lord.

HE loves me and you,

Praise the Lord.

Praise Him with all my being.

Praise Him-Praise Jesus-Praise you Holy Spirit.
