OCT. 9 – HEBREWS 12:2

10/09          Hebrews 12:2

2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.  Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

SUCCESS

Only Jesus can help us succeed in our daily walk.

Pray, study, meditate, memorize Scripture.

Jesus is always with us.

Let Him lead you.

Keep your eyes upon Jesus.

OCT. 8 – HEBREWS 10:39

10/08          Hebrews 10:39

39 But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

GIFT

Jesus gave us the gift of eternal life.

We know Him and follow Him.

He will keep us close until we go to be with Him.

Trust in the Lord with your whole heart.

He will guide you in the life sustaining way.

OCT. 7 – COL. 2:6-10

10/07          Colossians 2:6-10

6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers[a] of this world, rather than from Christ. 9 For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.[b] 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

HEAD

Jesus is the head over all things.

Nothing exists without Him.

We accepted Him, were saved by Him,

Now we seek to live under His guidance and direction.

Seek the Lord and know Him better.

Jesus is Lord.

OCT. 6 – HEBREWS 10:39

10/06          Hebrews 10:39

39 But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

SEEK

Seek the Lord while He may be found.

Seek the Lord.

He is looking for us.

He is our Savior.

Oh Lord, I believe.

Help my unbelief.

OCT. 5 – PHIL. 3:8-11

10/05          Philippians 3:8-11

8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9 and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ.[a] For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. 10 I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

SHORT

We have a short time here on earth.

One day soon we will be with Jesus.

Right now we will stand for Jesus in the power of the Lord.

Our suffering is painful and difficult, but it is for a very short time.

Then we will be with Jesus in eternity.

We will see Him as He is-Lord, Creator, Savior, and Sustainer.

Hallelujah, Jesus is Lord.

OCT. 4 – GALATIANS 2:20

10/04          Galatians 2:20

20 My old self has been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
UNDERSTAND

I understand the difficulty of living for Jesus.

It is impossible for me to stand in the face of evil.

I am weak and burdened.

But in the power of God through the residence of the Holy Spirit in me,

I can do all things in Christ.

When I am weak, He is strong.

Jesus is my Lord and Savior.

OCT. 3 – 2 COR. 5:7

10/03          2 Corinthians 5:7

7 For we live by believing and not by seeing.

WEAK

The Lord uses the weak of this world to show His power.

Are you weak?

Jesus will empower you and lead you step by step in your spiritual life.

If you listen, He will lead you step by step in your daily life.

Submit all your needs to Him and He will meet them.

What do you need?  Ask Jesus and He will meet that need.

Trust in the Lord and do good-HE is with you.

OCT. 2 – 1 COR. 2:1-5

10/02          1 Corinthians 2:1-5

When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters,[a] I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan.[b] 2 For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. 4 And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. 5 I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.

TRUST

Trust Jesus.

Trust His Word.

Believe in the activity of the Holy Spirit in you and call upon Him.

Let Jesus guide you.

Learn to pray to Him and study His Word – the Bible.

The power of God will be evident in your life.

Trust in the Lord and in His power to lead, guide and direct your life.

He will.

OCT. 1 – HEBREWS 11:1

10/01          Hebrews 11:1

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.

BELIEVE

First believe in Jesus and He will save you and build your faith.

Second grow in Christ-study His Word, pray, spend time with Him,

Learn to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Third get to know Him better and recognize that Jesus is God’s everything.

Our faith grows.

We develop hope.

We know Him and experience Him,

And the Spirit bears witness to Him to us.

Jesus is Lord.

We trust Him.

Our belief in Him grows.

Our hope matures and we trust Him.

Jesus brings our HOPE to maturity in our relationship with Him.

Jesus is our Hope.

SEPT 30 – JOB 20:12-13

09/30          Job 20:12-13

12 “They enjoyed the sweet taste of wickedness,
letting it melt under their tongue.
13 They savored it,
holding it long in their mouths.

HORROR

Oh the horror of evil.

Held close, practiced, adored.

Such are the lost.

Blind to sin, dead in their trespasses and sin.

Not so the saved.

Jesus saves, gives us life and light.

Follow Jesus and turn away from your sin.
