MAY 16 – PROV. 31:8-9

05/16               Proverbs 31:8-9

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. 

9 Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.

WE

We are His hands and feet.

We are our brothers and sisters keeper.

Care for others, especially the weak.  

You care by ensuring justice for the powerless.  

MAY 15 – LK. 10:27

The man answered, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

LOVE

Love is not a thought.

It is an action.

If you love the Lord Jesus, love one another.  

MAY 14 – 2 COR. 2:14

But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume.

USE

Serving God is a choice. 

Bend the knee to Him.

He will use you.  

MAY 13 – PS. 51:17

The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

NOT

I am not God.

I don’t know the way I should go.

The sooner I learn that the stronger I will be.  

Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God.

This is the way.  

Walk in it.  

MAY 12 – PHIL. 4:19

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

SOURCE

Jesus is our source for spiritual wisdom and maturity. 

Every time we obey Him we are better equipped to serve Him.

Obedience is the foundation for daily Christian service.  

Jesus is God’s everything.  

Know Him and the fellowship of His suffering.  

MAY 11 – 1 JOHN 2:28

And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.

TIME

Spend time with Jesus. 

Know Him.  

Obey Him.

Grow into maturity in Christ.  

He is coming soon.  

MAY 10 – MT. 14:27

But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here! ” 

PRESENCE

His presence calms our fear.

He is with us to empower us.

Take courage.  

God is here.  

MAY 9 – 1 COR. 15:58

05/09               1 Corinthians 15:58

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

VALUE

The Lord places great value in us. 

He is there for us and offers us His power.

Claim it, be filled with it, trust in the Lord and His might

He will never leave you.  

Be strong and immovable by the power of God.  

MAY 8 – EPH. 6:10

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

STRONG

To be strong in the Lord requires trust and belief.

Trust is learned as we know Him better.

It takes time to know Him. 

We cannot know unless we study His Word.

The Word is His communication to us.

Read, listen, obey-that is doing the Word.  

Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. 

MAY 7 – JOHN 14:27

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

PEACE

The world has no peace, only chaos and hardness.

Jesus gifts us with peace from the Father.

It is supernatural peace.

It is administered by the Holy Spirit.

He brings us the power of God-the gift of peace.
