OCTOBER 5 – TURN

10/5            1 Timothy 4:8

8 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

TURN

Every day I am called to turn to the Lord.  I am instructed to write His Words on my heart.  He encourages me to read His Word out loud.  The Lord is seeking to train me in spiritual ways and I want to get it.  Train me Lord.  I want to follow you.

OCTOBER 4 – BELIEVE

10/4            Romans 8:28

28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

BELIEVE

I believe in the Lord.  I believe in what He says in His Word.  He says whatever I face and experience that He will make it work out for my good.  He is Lord.  He loves me and you and He will take care of us.

OCTOBER 3 – SAFETY

10/3            Psalm 37:23-24

23 The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. 24 Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.

SAFETY

Jesus saves us and gives us safety as we live our life day by day.  Nothing can ever remove me from His ownership of me.  I belong to Him and will be His throughout eternity.  Jesus is Lord.  He knows the end from the beginning.  When we belong to Him every day is a good day.

OCTOBER 2 – DO

10/2            Psalm 37:7-9

7 Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.  8 Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. 9 For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land.

DO

Do the next right thing.  Don’t look outward to figure out what you will do.  Look to Jesus and let Him write His instructions on your heart.  Do the next right thing and the Lord will guide you as you walk His path in life.

OCTOBER 1 – TRUST

10/1            Psalm 37:3-5

3 Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. 4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. 5 Commit everything you do to the LORD . Trust him, and he will help you.

TRUST

Trust involves our living in accord with His directives.  If I trust Jesus I will be in the process of becoming like Him.  Do it today.  Do it now.  Trust in the Lord and He will help you.

SEPTEMBER 30 – LAZY

09/30               2 Timothy 2:15

15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

LAZY
There is no lazy in the kingdom of God.  We are called to be busy representing the Lord Jesus and going the second mile with those we live among.  People count with Jesus and He calls us to make people count with us.

SEPTEMBER 29 – CAREFUL

09/29               1 Timothy 4:16

16 Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

CAREFUL

We are called to live careful lives.  Are you letting Jesus tell you what to do and how to change?  Anytime we begin to teach others the greatest lessons are the lessons we learn.  Live so that your life will glorify Jesus.

SEPTEMBER 28 – SPIRITUAL

09/28               1 Timothy 4:8

8 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

SPIRITUAL

Spiritual training is exceedingly harder than physical training.  It involves trust and belief that result in obedience.  It is so hard for us to trust, harder yet to believe and almost impossible for us to be consistent in our obedience.  So who can be saved?  Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved.  Whosoever!

SEPTEMBER 27 – TRUTH

09/27               1 Timothy 3:16

16 Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

TRUTH

This is truth without any mixture of fable or untruth.  God in Christ is our Savior.  He paid the price of our sin-His blood cleanses us from unrighteousness. We know we are sinners and still Jesus died for us while we were still dead in our trespasses and sin.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow.  Jesus is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 26 – KEY

09/26               Proverbs 22:29

29 Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people.

KEY

Key personnel know they are important.  They work hard, listen well and follow the Lord.  The Lord is always seeking to speak with us but too often we are too busy to listen.  Spend time with Jesus and He will tell you the way you should go.  Jesus loves you.
