OCTOBER 30 – ONE

10/30               Ephesians 6:19-21

And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike. 20 I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.  21 To bring you up to date, Tychicus will give you a full report about what I am doing and how I am getting along. He is a beloved brother and faithful helper in the Lord’s work.

ONE

We are one in Christ.  You belong and so do I if we have asked Jesus into our heart.  Jesus is God’s everything.  In Christ we belong and in Christ we will survive.  Jesus is Lord.

OCTOBER 29 – PRAY

10/29               Ephesians 6:16-17

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.  17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

PRAY

The call is to pray.  Pray in belief.  You are precious to the Lord.  You are important to Jesus.  As you pray know that He has you on His heart and mind therefore you can be encouraged to know that Jesus loves you and is standing there with you right now.  Pray.

OCTOBER 28 – GOD

10/28               Ephesians 6:14-15

Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.  15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

GOD

The Lord God has made provision for you in Jesus Christ.  His Word is the truth you need to live life daily.  His Word sheds the light of truth upon that which you face every day=LIFE.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ showers you with grace giving you exactly what you need each day and the peace of God that will fully prepare you to stand firm in the Lord.

OCTOBER 27 – SPIRITUAL

10/27               Ephesians 6:12-13

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

SPIRITUAL

You are in a spiritual battle every day.  It isn’t if the evil one will attack you it is when and every day is when.  You need the Lord.  Get to know Jesus.  Develop your prayer time with Him and He will direct your path.

OCTOBER 26 – DON’T

10/26               Ephesians 6:11

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

DON’T

Don’t be discouraged.  Don’t try to stand against the wiles of the evil one by yourself.  Call upon Jesus.  Let Him cloak you fully in the full armor of the Lord.  God’s armor doesn’t break.  His armor is the exact spiritual armor that you need.  Praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord.

OCTOBER 25 – MIGHTY

10/25               Ephesians 6:10

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

MIGHTY

Our Lord is a mighty God.  The only True God.  He is greater than anything.  Spend your day confidently for the God you serve has you in the palm of His hand.  Praise Jesus from whom all blessings flow.

OCTOBER 24 – DO

10/24               Ephesians 6:8-9

Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.  9 Masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Don’t threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites.

DO

Do the next right thing.  Stay focused on Jesus.  Spend time in the Word of God.  Pray every day and throughout the day pray without ceasing.  Hide the Word in your heart so that you might not sin against the Lord.  Jesus is with you and He will enable you to do these daily “spiritual life” things.  We are at war with the world and the powers and principalities of the air.  Satan is seeking whom he might devour.  Live a devoted life and you will not fail at following the Lord.

OCTOBER 23 – BEST

10/23               Ephesians 6:4-7

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.  5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.  6 Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart.  7 Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

BEST

Do your best in everything you do as unto the Lord.  The Lord doesn’t us to win.  Jesus calls us to do our best.

OCTOBER 22 – OBEDIENCE

10/22               Ephesians 6:1

Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.  2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”

OBEDIENCE

The Lord loves obedience more than sacrifice.  Learn to obey the Lord in all things not just the things that are easy for us to obey.  Do what the Lord says.  Obey Him.

OCTOBER 21 – LOVE

10/21               Ephesians 5:29-33

No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. 30 And we are members of his body. 31 As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” 32 This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. 33 So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

LOVE

We want to be usable and useful in the Kingdom of God.  Therefore, we will learn to love one another.  As we learn to love it will become part of our nature.  Whatever someone does to me I will love them.  The standard for this love is “as I love myself.”  This requires significant attention to the way I live and think and act.  Love one another as Jesus loved me-while we were still dead in our trespasses and sin Christ died for us.
