10/09 Psalm 124:1-5
A song for the ascent to Jerusalem: A psalm of David. If the LORD had not been on our side — let Israel now say — 2 if the LORD had not been on our side when people rose up against us, 3 they would have swallowed us alive because of their burning anger against us. 4 The waters would have engulfed us; a torrent would have overwhelmed us. 5 Yes, the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives.
OUR SIDE
The Lord is on our side. He is deeply interested in our life. He knows our pain and sorrow and He experiences with us the heartache we experience. He is a God who is here and He is on our side. Praise the Lord.

Clay Corvin is currently a Bible Teacher and occasional preacher at Bethel Community Baptist Church in New Orleans. He is the retired VP Business and Professor of Admin at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary after completing 38 years as their Business Administrator. He was the pastor at the Brantley Baptist Center for twenty-five years. He is married to Carol Corvin and the father of three children and has three grandchildren.
