MAY 19 – JOHN 6:35-37

05/19          John 6:35-37

35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But you haven’t believed in me even though you have seen me.  37 However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. 38 For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will.

JESUS

Jesus came from God on a mission to save mankind. He would that no one go out into eternity lost.  We come to Jesus by faith, given salvation by faith it is a free gift, and we continue in a faith relationship with him until we stand before Him in eternity.  Jesus is Lord.  Follow Him. 

MAY 18 – MATTHEW 4:19

05/18          Matthew 4:19

19 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”

CALLING

Jesus calling two brothers.  It is the call to us.  When Jesus comes into our life His call to us is come follow me.  Follow Jesus and you are following wisdom, mercy, grace and understanding.  Jesus is Lord.  

MAY 17 – JOHN 14:1-3

05/17          John 14:1-3

1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.  2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?  3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 

SOON
Soon and very soon the Lord is coming back to take us to live with Him in Heaven.  But, right now we can have His indwelling spirit who will fill us with wisdom, mercy and grace, guiding us in the way we should go and standing with us in every challenge that we face.  The Lord is with us, Always.  

MAY 16 – JOHN 14:16-18

05/16          John 14:16-18

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. 18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. 

HOLY SPIRIT

The Lord’s gift to you is His indwelling Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit resides in every believer and He is seeking to help us serve and grow.  If we will rest in Him, He will do it.  Trust the Lord.  Ask Him to lead, guide and direct you.  

MAY 15 – MATTHEW 11:28-30

05/15          Matthew 11:28-30

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

STRENGTH

The Holy Spirit indwells us and when we ask gives us the strength to live like Jesus.  Jesus is our elder brother and we want to grow into His likeness.  You can when you let the Holy Spirit have control of your life.  

MAY 14 – 1 THESS. 5:14-19

05/14          1 Thessalonians 5:14-19

14 Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. 15 See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. 16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 19 Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 

WISDOM
WISE people take care of those around them.  People count.  Care for them.  Be forgiving and kind.  People count.  Especially with the Lord.  You are most like Jesus when you are caring for others. 

MAY 13 – MATTHEW 7:13-14

05/13          Matthew 7:13-14

13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

HELP

Help me Lord.  Help me make sure about my salvation.  I love Jesus and see to be like Him.  HE loved the unlovely.  He forgave all of our many, many sins.  We are to live until we die.  Likewise, we are to constantly seek the Lord’s face that we might not sin against Him.  Jesus is Lord. 

MAY 12 – 1 JOHN 1:8-10

05/12          1 John 1:8-10

8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

SINNER

I am a sinner.  I know my sin.  I confess it to the Lord.  He forgives me and helps me grow in Christlikeness.  Jesus is Lord.  

MAY 11 – PSALM 66:17-18

05/11          Psalm 66:17-18

17 For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. 18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 

REPENTED

I confessed my sin, agreeing with God and He listened to me and forgave me.  Turn away from the world and turn to the Lord God Almighty.  Praise the name of the Lord.  Jesus is Lord.  

MAY 10 – JOHN 1:9

05/10          John 1:9

9 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 

JESUS

He came to save us from our sin.  He came to bring us into the Family of God.  He came looking for us.  He gave His life for us while we were dead in our trespasses and sin.  Raised from the dead by the power of God, Jesus is alive today seated at the right hand of the Father.  Praise the Lord, Jesus is alive.
