Today's Good News

AUG. 14 – 1 COR. 15:33

8/14        1 Corinthians 15:33

33 Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”

CAREFUL

Be careful the friends you make.

Be careful the people you befriend.

Be sure that bad company will corrupt you.

Make sure the crowd you run with are good folks.

AUG. 13 – 1 TH. 5:11

8/13        1 Thessalonians 5:11

11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

DO

Do to others as you would have done to yourself.

Encourage.

Find the good things another does and compliment them.

Notice others and think and speak positive about them.

Do not criticize, condemn and complain.

AUG. 12 – EXODUS 15:2

8/12            Exodus 15:2

2 The Lord is my strength and my song;
    he has given me victory.
This is my God, and I will praise him—
my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

VICTORY

Jesus my strength,

And my victory.

He gives me a song in my heart,

Jesus loves me this I know!

Exalt Him, glorify Him, worship Him.

He is Lord, Creator, and my Savior!

AUG. 11 – 2 COR. 4:17-18

8/11            2 Corinthians 4:17-18

17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

SEE

We see little with our eyes.

The heart, the soul gives us the right perspective.

Trouble comes and goes.

But we must grab hold of the future,

Keeping our eyes on Jesus.

And His peace will enable us to keep moving forward.

Jesus is our strength.

AUG. 10 – EPH. 6:10

8/10            Ephesians 6:10

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

FINAL

Be strong in the Lord.

Accept His power.

Control your ego.

Be strong in the Lord.

AUG. 9 – 1 COR. 16:13

8/9              1 Corinthians 16:13

13 Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous.[a] Be strong.

STRENGTH

We worry a lot about strength-

Will I last?

Will I stand?

Will others think I am strong?

Do I think I am strong.

God says for us to be on guard-there is a spiritual war going on.

God says stand firm in your faith-someone is always challenging it.

Fear makes us foolish, therefore God calls us to be courageous

And to trust Him.

God gives us His strength, so use it.

Trust in God.

AUG. 8 – ISAIAH 41:10

8/8              Isaiah 41:10

10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

GOD

God is here, forever close.

Do not fear, for the Lord knows what is going on,

And He will stand with you, help you, hold you up.

He is now, always has been and always will be victorious,

The victory is won, your life counts, God is with you, trust Him.

AUG. 7 – ISAIAH 40:31

8/7              Isaiah 40:31

31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

NEW

New strength to fight old battles,

That rage a lifetime.

Let God be God, trust in Him, He is God you are not.

He is good.

He loves you.

He has promised to take care of you always.

Do not fear, God is here with you, always.

Trust in the Lord and He will not fail you.

AUG. 6 – PHIL. 4:13

8/6              Philippians 4:13

13 For I can do everything through Christ,[a] who gives me strength.

CONNECTION

Jesus is not a talisman, we use.

He is Lord and God Almighty.

We go to Him for everything.

We focus our mind and heart on Him.

We trust Him to guide us and be a lamp unto our feet.

That is the way Jesus equips us to do all things.

Our weakness assures His victory in us.

AUG. 5 – NEH. 8:10

8/5              Nehemiah 8:10

10 And Nehemiah[a] continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”

JOY

When Jesus comes to live in us, He brings His peace and joy.

Whatever happens, keep your focus on Jesus.

A war may rage but HE will keep you in perfect peace.
