06/23               1 John 4:3-4 

But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.  4. But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. 

FILLED

We are filled with the Spirit-the Holy Spirit of God.  The Spirit is active and powerful in equipping to walk in the path of righteousness.  But you must receive the Spirit-Lord fill me and He will.  You are precious to God the Father and He loves you.  

06/22               1 John 4:1-2 

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. 2 This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God.

JESUS

Jesus was fully man in a real body and fully God.  He was divinity willingly stepping off His throne in Glory into the limitations of our world.  He lived a perfect life.  He died a perfect death.  He paid the price that we couldn’t pay.  Jesus is Lord.  Serve Him. 

06/21               1 John 3:20-24 

Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.  21 Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him. And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.

SPIRIT

The testimony of the Holy Spirit to our heart, mind and soul is that we belong to Him.  As such we are used by Him.  He calls us to service.  Service to those who can do nothing for us.  Love Jesus and love one another.  

06/20               1 John 3:17-19 

If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?  18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 19Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 

DO

DON’T just be a be, do a do.  Help one another every way you can.  People need the Lord and You are His hands and feet.  

06/19               1 John 3:15-16 

Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them. 16 We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 

SURRENDER

Surrender your life to Jesus and live for others.  Be a helper, be a caretaker, be an encourage, be the financial help that others need, and do all that you can do to be an agent for Jesus caring for His children.  We are saved by grace thru faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and when we come into the family we find ourselves constantly seeking the lost, the hurting the needy daily.  

06/18               1 John 3:13-14 

So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. 14 If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead. 

BE 

Be of good courage.  The world will hate us but we will love one another and in so doing we are living like Jesus and doing what Jesus did.  Care for one another.  Reach out to the needy.  Do what you can do as the feet and hands of Jesus.  

06/17               1 John 3:12 

We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous. 

ACTIONS

Actions speak, they speak louder than words.  Look at the way you are acting and you can tell quickly who is ruling you.  Do not do evil.  Do the next right thing.  You can if you will surrender control of your life to Christ and do what He says.  

06/16               1 John 3:11 

This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 

DO

Yes we are to love on another.  People count with Jesus.  When people count with us we know that we are being led by Him for He loves all of God’s children.  

06/15               1 John 3:10 

So now we can tell who are children of God, and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God. 

LOOK

Look at the product of your life.  If we do not love one another we are out of fellowship with Jesus.  Love one another and we are in fellowship with Jesus.  Follow Jesus.  

06/14               1 John 3:9 

Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God. 

STAY

Stay with Jesus all day every day and you will not get caught up in sinning.  Forget about Jesus and walk in your own strength and you can’t do anything but sin.  Jesus is Lord.  He is God’s everything.  He loves you and me and will guide us in the right path.
