07/07          Colossians 3:9

9 Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. 

TRUTH

Father, I pray that today I will speak only truth and not seek to be a pleaser of people.  Help me to speak truth in a loving and kind way seeking to be gentle to everyone.  I need you Lord to guide my tongue and to constantly remind me that I won’t have to apologize for what I don’t say.  Jesus is the focus of my life day by day.  Truth Lord, only truth-no lies. 

07/06          Colossians 3:7-8

7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. 8 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. 

LANGUAGE

Oh Lord, help me clean up the way I speak.  Angry words are almost as bad as curse words.  Let neither cross my lips.  Jesus help me clean up my life so that I will become more like you each day.  You are my power Lord, help me. 

07/05          Colossians 3:5-6

5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. 

STRENGTH

Lord I am not strong so I must depend on your strength.  I know you rejoice in my claiming your strength so help me today to rest in you. Guide me to turn my face towards you every time I face temptation.  I need your strength.  Cleanse me Father and make me whole.  Guide me in the path you have marked out for me. 

07/04          Colossians 3:4

4And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. 

NOW

Thank you Father for your forgiveness of my past and your control of my eternal future.  Life is very hard and YOU assure me that I will make it through.  You stand with me even when I am wrong.  You correct me and put me back on the right path.  Thank you Jesus.  Thank you today as I experience your joy and peace. 

07/03          Colossians 3:3

3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 

WORLD

Encourage me to be mindful of the resources I have in you.  I’m ill tempered, foolish and quick to fail. Help me Lord today.  Lord guide me to reject the ideology of the world. Speak and cover me with your wisdom, mercy and grace as I quietly listen to you.  I know you can take care of me. 

07/02          Colossians 3:2

2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 

HEAVEN

Father my challenges are real and they are getting me down.  Help me to accept your power and use it to equip myself for service and to help those around me who are in great need.  Thank you for your peace and joy.  Jesus is Lord. 

07/01          Colossians 3:1

1 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 

CHRIST

Lord help me to focus my life today on Jesus.  I need to know your path.  Speak to me as I listen to You.  I know my Redeemer lives and I am grateful Lord.  Praying for my family to day Father.  We each need you.  Come Lord Jesus.   

06/30          Psalm 121:1-8

1 I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? 2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! 3 He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. 4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. 

5 The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. 6 The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. 7 The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. 8 The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

HELP

Our Help comes from Jesus.  His is our wisdom and gives us the mercy and grace that we need.  Additionally, Jesus recognizes where we are and what we are doing. He knows us inside and out.  He watches over us and is always there when we need help.  Jesus is Lord. 

06/29          Psalm 120:1-7

1 I took my troubles to the LORD ; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer. 2 Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people. 3 O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?4 You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals. 5 How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar. 6 I am tired of living among people who hate peace. 7 I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!

TROUBLES

Our Lord delivers us from evil and trains us to conquer our troubles.  Everyone has trouble.  Christ calls us to deal with today’s troubles in His strength.  Don’t worry about tomorrow as today has enough trouble itself.

06/28          Colossians 2:20-23

20 You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, 21 “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? 22 Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. 23These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires.

POWER

The Lord rejoices in giving us His power.  In Christ we have the power of God to withstand the assault of the evil one. We have been set free and we are no longer at the mercy of the World.
