Today's Good News

MAY 3 – WORK

5/3              Hebrews 12:14

14 Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

WORK

A Holy, Godly life takes diligence and hard work.  It is a 24/7 lifestyle.  It is who we are and who we are becoming.  One cannot live for Jesus 16 hours a day and dally with Satan 8 hours a day. Holy living is everything we do-24/7.

MAY 2 – FRUIT

5/2              Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

FRUIT

The fruit of the Spirit is one fruit composed of a multiplicity of blessings.  When we give our heart to Jesus, He comes into our life bringing love, joy and peace. His presence equips us to exercise patience, be filled with Kindness and goodness, reacting with gentleness, and equipped to exercise self-control.  HE is with us always.  His presence is evidenced by our living in such a way that the fruit of the Spirit is easily recognized in our life by us and others.  Jesus is truly Lord.  Be filled with the Spirit.

MAY 1 – CHRIST

5/1              Colossians 3:15

15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

CHRIST

Christ in us is our hope.  He brings our peace with His presence.  Peace overrules war and hate and  it equips us to hear the Holy Spirit.  Jesus is Lord.

APRIL 30 – OBLIGATION

04/30          Romans 13:8

8 Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.

OBLIGATION

Our obligation as a child of God is to love one another.  Love your neighbor.  This is a command from Christ.  Love one another.

APRIL 29 – LOVE

04/29          Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

LOVE

Love begins with God.  He loves us so that we can love others.  Love one another.  Love others the way the Lord loves you.  Love is where our faith journey begins.

APRIL 28 – COMPLETE

04/28          Psalm 107:8-9

8 Let them praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. 9For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

COMPLETE

We are complete in Christ.  Not after death but right now.  Jesus is God’s everything and He equips us for Kingdom service and usability in the Family of God.  Jesus is Lord.  We live in Him.

APRIL 27 – WHAT

04/27          Ephesians 5:2

2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

WHAT

What please God?  That we love Him with all of our heart, soul and mind and that we love one another. People count with the Lord.  Make people count in your life.

APRIL 26 – CARES

04/26          Psalm 36:5-6

5 Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. 6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O LORD.

CARES

Jesus is Lord and He cares for you.

APRIL 25 – RAISED

04/25          Romans 6:4

4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.

RAISED

We are raised in righteousness to the Father in Jesus Christ.  He is our righteousness.  He is our Lord.  Savior, sustainer, life and light, Jesus is our righteousness.

APRIL 24 – ALIVE

04/24          1 Corinthians 15:3-8

3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 5 He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. 6 After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. 7 Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him.

ALIVE

The testimony of more than 500 people was that Jesus was raised from the dead and is alive.  His own testimony is that He is alive now and lives in each of us that name the name of Jesus as our Lord.  He is alive.
