06/17          Colossians 2:4-5

4 I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments. 5 For though I am far away from you, my heart is with you. And I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong. 

CONNECTS

Jesus connects us with one another.  He is the glue that holds all things together.  He is the connector that connects us to His church, Himself, one another and to the Father.  We live and breathe and move in His presence.  He strengthens our faith.  He walks with us as we work our salvation with fear and trembling. 

06/16          Colossians 2:1-3

1 I want you to know how much I have agonized for you and for the church at Laodicea, and for many other believers who have never met me personally. 2 I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. 3 In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 

EVERYTHING

Jesus is God’s everything.  Everything we need for Christian living and for thriving in our environment come from Jesus.  HE is the One and only one that we need to follow.  He gives us wisdom, mercy, grace and understanding.  He leads us in the way we should go.  Jesus is Lord.  Follow Him. 

06/15          Colossians 1:26-29

26 This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. 27 For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory. 28 So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. 29 That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.

SECRET

The secret-we are included. We will share in the kingdom to come and also right now.  Jesus is Lord and we are part of His family.  Jesus lives in you and rejoices to share His mighty power for living with you. Surrender and obey are strong elements of a Christ like life. 

06/14          Colossians 1:24-25

24 I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church. 25 God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. 

SPEAK

Speak about what Jesus has done in your life.  Let others know about what Christ is doing in your life.  Be open and candid and above all else kind.  Love one another and you will change the world. 

06/13          Colossians 1:23

23 But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it. 

HEAR

As you pray, spend time listening for Jesus to speak.  When He does hear what He says and be encouraged.  The key is to know who is speaking.  Jesus always lifts you up, always leads you in positive directions. If you hear how bad you are and how big a failure you are, ask the Lord to rebuke the evil spirit.  Jesus loves you and always has your best interest at heart. He may say stop but He won’t call you a failure.  You are His precious child.  Hear the Lord as He guides you in the correct path. 

06/12          Colossians 1:21-22

21 This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. 22 Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

IN

In Christ we are brought near to God and reconnected to His family.  Jesus reconciles us to the Father and to each other.  He is our righteousness.  He makes us holy and perfect.  Come Lord Jesus!

06/11          Colossians 1:18-20

18 Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. 19 For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, 20 and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. 

PEACE

Jesus is our peace. Christ made peace with everything and He lives in us today filling us, our life and our heart with His peace. Christ is number one in everything. He is our focus and our core. Jesus is Lord. 

06/10          Colossians 1:17

17 He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. 

TOTAL

Jesus is the total sum of all that we need to live and work and be.  He loves us and brings us into the family of God.  Jesus is God.  Thank you Lord for revealing yourself to us and telling us about who you are.  Jesus you are our everything. 

06/09          Colossians 1:15-16

15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, 16 for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. 

EVERYTHING

Jesus is GOD’S everything. He is and was and will be.  He is the Creator, Sustainer, Equipper, and Focus of mankind.  Jesus is Lord.  He is who saves us from our sin.  We can see Him and know Him in a way that would be impossible for us to see and know God. The Son brings sun into our life. He is the light. 

06/08          Colossians 1:13-14

13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

BOUGHT

We are bought with a price – the precious blood of Jesus Christ.  He purchased our freedom and redeemed us from the spiritual powers of wickedness and evil.  We belong to Him.  Once we walked in death now we walk in life.  Once we could not see and now we stand in His light and can see clearly. Jesus forgave our sin and shares His righteousness with us so we can come into the presence of the Father and will be filled with the Holy Spirit who will guide us into all understanding.
