AUGUST 4 – GRACE

08/04               Ephesians 2:3-5

All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature.  By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. 4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

GRACE
Grace is what the Lord gives us in abundance.  It is adequate to meet our needs.  It is more than adequate to fill us with God’s eternal love and direct us to follow Jesus.  His grace gives us what we desperately need and cannot earn-His righteousness.

AUGUST 3 – ONCE

08/03               Ephesians 2:1-2

Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.

ONCE

We were like the world once but we professed our faith in Jesus and are now a part of the Family of God.  Jesus is with us.  He will never leave us.  We live and move and breathe in His power and strength.  Now we obey the Lord.  He gives us the strength we need to live each day.

AUGUST 2 – EVERYTHING

08/02               Ephesians 1:22-23

God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.

EVERYTHING

Where ever we are whatever we are doing we can have fullest confidence that Jesus knows where we are and what we are doing.  He also provides us with everything we need to do what the Lord has called us to do.  Jesus is God’s everything.

AUGUST 1 – JESUS

08/01               Ephesians 1:21

Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.

JESUS

He is Lord, emphatically, without question and He has paid the price for our sin.  Jesus is Lord of creation, of things seen and unseen, He is Lord.  Praise the name of Jesus, King and Lord and He loves us.

Tell the world about his unforgettable deeds. 12 For he who avenges murder cares for the helpless. He does not ignore the cries of those who suffer.

SING

Sing to the Lord a new song, a song of gratitude and trust.  A song of joy.  He is here with us and we can see His activity in our life.  Jesus hears me and doesn’t ignore me.  He is my refuge and my shelter.  Life is worthwhile and exciting as I live moment by moment in His care.  Jesus is Lord and He is my Lord.
