JAN. 1 – ROMANS 8:18

01/01          ROMANS 8:18

18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

LIFE

Life is for living.  We are called to cast our burdens upon the Lord and live with joy and peace.

Father, my prayer today for this year is that I will consistently cast my burdens upon you and claim the joy and peace that Jesus offers for each moment of each day.  PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW.

DEC. 31 – PS. 98:1

12/31          PSALM 98:1

1 Sing a new song to the LORD, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power!

DEC. 30 – 2 COR. 5:17

30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.

31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

DEC 28 – MT. 2:7-12

12/28          Matthew 2:7-12

7 Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared. 8 Then he told them, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!”

9 After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! 11 They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

12 When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.

DEC. 27 – MT. 2:1-6

12/27          Matthew 2:1-6

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men[a] from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, 2 “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose,[b] and we have come to worship him.”

3 King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. 4 He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?”

5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote:

6 ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah,
are not least among the ruling cities[c] of Judah,
for a ruler will come from you
who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.’[d]”

DEC. 26 – COL. 3:15

12/26          Colossians 3:15

15And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

DEC. 25 – LUKE 2:15-20

12/25          Luke 2:15-20

15 When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, 19 but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. 20 The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.

INTERESTING

GOD came in the flesh to a young woman in Bethlehem.

She had no fortune or notoriety.

She was a young, simple, Jewish girl, maybe 13 or 14.

She wasn’t popular nor well educated.

She didn’t come from one of the leading families on earth.

She was God’s mother-MARY.

We talk of her to this day.

God walked the land in Israel,

Then one day he was murdered on a cross by the elite of Israel.

He was raised from the dead three days later,

And is now seated at the right hand of God the Father.

He is interceding for us.

But this day in Bethlehem He came as a precious little baby.

Born in a stable, to poor parents, HE was the Son of God.

Isn’t it interesting how wrong we can often be.

Go to Jesus and ask Him to save you.

You will get real freedom from sin and life like God’s-eternal life.

All of this happened in Bethlehem 2,000 years ago.

DEC. 24 – LUKE 2:12-14

12/24          Luke 2:12-14

12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in highest heaven,

and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

DONE

It is done.

God has come in the flesh.

He came to free us from slavery to sin.

Praise God, there is salvation and victory in Jesus Christ.

Go to Jesus and be saved.

DEC. 23 – LUKE 2:8-11

12/23          Luke 2:8-11

8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

HERE

Prophesied for centuries in the Old Testament.

Someone is coming from God to save mankind.

Now He is here.

Jesus saves.

Turn to Christ the Lord and be saved.

Jesus loves you.
