Today's Good News

OCTOBER 10 – WRONG

10/10              2 Peter 2:15-17

They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong. 16 But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice. 17 These people are as useless as dried-up springs or as mist blown away by the wind. They are doomed to blackest darkness.

WRONG

You know the things that are wrong.  Don’t do them.  You know the things that are right.  Do them.

OCTOBER 9 – WICKED

10/09              2 Peter 2:13-14

Their destruction is their reward for the harm they have done. They love to indulge in evil pleasures in broad daylight. They are a disgrace and a stain among you. They delight in deception even as they eat with you in your fellowship meals. 14 They commit adultery with their eyes, and their desire for sin is never satisfied. They lure unstable people into sin, and they are well trained in greed. They live under God’s curse.

WICKED
Do not be counted among the wicked.  Turn to the Lord, live under His guidance and let Him lead you step by step so that you are equipped, empowered and able to do the next right thing.  Praise the Lord.

OCTOBER 8 – AGAINST

10/08          2 Peter 2:12

These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed.

AGAINST

Those that are against the Lord will perish.  They do not have a seat with the righteous nor will they see Jesus in Heaven.  When the wicked die they will be eternally separated from the Lord.  You on the other hand will immediately be in the presence of the Lord when you die.

OCTOBER 7 – LISTEN

10/07       2 Peter 2:11

But the angels, who are far greater in power and strength, do not dare to bring from the Lord a charge of blasphemy against those supernatural beings.

LISTEN

Listen to the Word of God. Pay attention to our adversaries. Turn to Jesus to heal your problems. Do not rail against or attempt to fight these supernatural beings instead deliver your problems to Jesus and let Him fight the fight for you.

OCTOBER 6 – CAREFUL

10/06          2 Peter 2:10

He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural beings without so much as trembling.

CAREFUL
You and I are careful in the way we live and the way we think and act towards God.  Bless the name of the Lord.  Praise the Lord.

OCTOBER 5 – GOD

10/05          2 Peter 2:7-9

But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. 8 Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day. 9 So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.

GOD

God knows all things and He is able to equip us to live our life under His rules.  We don’t have to work out complicated theories nor do we have to achieve a particular certification or education for the Lord has a plan for our life.  Listen to Jesus, follow Him and you will be equipped for right living.

OCTOBER 4 – UNGODLY

10/04          2 Peter 2:4-6

For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the day of judgment. 5 And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood. 6 Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people.

UNGODLY

The ungodly will not stand in the face of God. Their life is slippery slope.  Do not stand with the ungodly.  Stand with Jesus.  He loves you.  He calls us to love as we seek to be loved.

OCTOBER 3 – HEAR

10/03          2 Peter 2:1-3

But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. 3 In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

HEAR
Hear the Words of God.  They speak to obedience, faithfulness, humility, service and sacrifice.  Hear the words of man.  The speak to me, me, me; personal fulfilment, harsh thoughts towards their fellow man.  Mankind seeks to be served.  The world stands against God.  Surrender your life to Jesus.

OCTOBER 2 – PRAISE

10/02              Psalm 68:22

The Lord says, “I will bring my enemies down from Bashan; I will bring them up from the depths of the sea. 23 You, my people, will wash your feet in their blood, and even your dogs will get their share!” 24 Your procession has come into view, O God— the procession of my God and King as he goes into the sanctuary. 25 Singers are in front, musicians behind; between them are young women playing tambourines. 26 Praise God, all you people of Israel; praise the , the source of Israel’s life. 27 Look, the little tribe of Benjamin leads the way. Then comes a great throng of rulers from Judah and all the rulers of Zebulun and Naphtali. 28 Summon your might, O God. Display your power, O God, as you have in the past. 29 The kings of the earth are bringing tribute to your Temple in Jerusalem. 30 Rebuke these enemy nations— these wild animals lurking in the reeds, this herd of bulls among the weaker calves. Make them bring bars of silver in humble tribute. Scatter the nations that delight in war. 31 Let Egypt come with gifts of precious metals ; let Ethiopia bring tribute to God. 32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth. Sing praises to the Lord. Interlude 33 Sing to the one who rides across the ancient heavens, his mighty voice thundering from the sky. 34 Tell everyone about God’s power. His majesty shines down on Israel; his strength is mighty in the heavens. 35 God is awesome in his sanctuary. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!

PRAISE
Praise the Lord.  Praise Him in every place and in every way.  He is worthy of our praise.  He is worthy of all praise and affirmation for He is a great Lord He is indeed the Lord.  Praise the Lord.  Praise Father Son and Holy Spirit-One.  Praise ye the Lord.

OCTOBER 1 – DAY

10/01              Psalm 68:20-21

Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign rescues us from death. 21 But God will smash the heads of his enemies, crushing the skulls of those who love their guilty ways.

DAY

There is a day coming when every enemy of the Lord will be removed.  But our God is a saving God.  He is seeking to save the Lost every day.  Now is the time of salvation.  Surrender to the Lord and You shall be saved.  Jesus saves.
