Today's Good News

FEBRUARY 7 – REJECT

2/7 Luke 10:16
Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God who sent me.”

REJECT
People need to hear the Lord and accept His message: Good News-God in Christ has made a way for us and paid the price for us to come into the Family of God. Our responsibility is to accept Jesus Christ as Lord. When people decline your presentation of the Gospel, they aren’t rejecting you they are rejecting God.

FEBRUARY 6 – JESUS

2/6 Luke 10:14-15
Yes, Tyre and Sidon will be better off on the judgment day than you. 15 And you people of Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be brought down to the place of the dead.”

JESUS
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. There is no other way to the Father. Do you believe this? This is required to be a part of the Family of God. Jesus is the only way to the Father.

FEBRUARY 5 – JOURNEY

2/5 Luke 10:12-13
The truth is, even wicked Sodom will be better off than such a town on the judgment day.” 13 “What horrors await you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have sat in deep repentance long ago, clothed in sackcloth and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse.

JOURNEY
The Christian walk is a journey. Our journey is from where we are to when we will stand face to face with Jesus. What we are doing is important. It always has eternal implications. Serve the Lord with gladness and look forward to seeing Him.

FEBRUARY 4 – MOVE

2/4 Luke 10:8-11
“If a town welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you 9 and heal the sick. As you heal them, say, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’ 10 But if a town refuses to welcome you, go out into its streets and say, 11 ‘We wipe the dust of your town from our feet as a public announcement of your doom. And don’t forget the Kingdom of God is near!’

MOVE
The Lord is calling us to move. We are to be in action. Seeking to share the Good News. But first we must make sure that we have the Good News and that it impacts every area of our life.

FEBRUARY 3 – YOU

2/3 Luke 10:7
When you enter a town, don’t move around from home to home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking what they provide you. Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve their pay.”

YOU
You are called of God to care about the people you come into contact with. Jesus loves you and He loves everyone else-HE is Lord and Lord of all. Pray for others. Be a helper. Serve the Lord with gladness by helping everyone with whom you come into contact.

FEBRUARY 2 – GO

2/2 Luke 10:3-6
Go now, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. 4 Don’t take along any money, or a traveler’s bag, or even an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road.” 5 “Whenever you enter a home, give it your blessing. 6 If those who live there are worthy, the blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will return to you.

GO
As we go in life we are to be about our Lord’s business. I serve the Lord. The Lord takes care of His servant-me. As I go I need to be thinking about those I am making contact with. Everyone needs Jesus.

FEBRUARY 1 – PEOPLE

2/1 Luke 10:1-2
The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them on ahead in pairs to all the towns and villages he planned to visit. 2 These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. Pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest, and ask him to send out more workers for his fields.

PEOPLE
People need Jesus. They need Jesus because they are lost. We know Jesus. We need to share about Jesus in our life and heart. Tell everyone you know about Jesus

JANUARY 31 – NOW

1/31 John 11:46-57
But some went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 Then the leading priests and Pharisees called the high council together to discuss the situation. “What are we going to do?” they asked each other. “This man certainly performs many miraculous signs. 48 If we leave him alone, the whole nation will follow him, and then the Roman army will come and destroy both our Temple and our nation.” 49 And one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said, “How can you be so stupid? 50 Why should the whole nation be destroyed? Let this one man die for the people.” 51 This prophecy that Jesus should die for the entire nation came from Caiaphas in his position as high priest. He didn’t think of it himself; he was inspired to say it. 52 It was a prediction that Jesus’ death would be not for Israel only, but for the gathering together of all the children of God scattered around the world. 53 So from that time on the Jewish leaders began to plot Jesus’ death. 54 As a result, Jesus stopped his public ministry among the people and left Jerusalem. He went to a place near the wilderness, to the village of Ephraim, and stayed there with his disciples. 55 It was now almost time for the celebration of Passover, and many people from the country arrived in Jerusalem several days early so they could go through the cleansing ceremony before the Passover began. 56 They wanted to see Jesus, and as they talked in the Temple, they asked each other, “What do you think? Will he come for the Passover?” 57 Meanwhile, the leading priests and Pharisees had publicly announced that anyone seeing Jesus must report him immediately so they could arrest him.

NOW
Now it begins. His final journey to the Cross. Jesus knew everything going on and still was willing to commit Himself totally to the Father. He is Lord and He willingly knowingly died for us on the Cross so that we might have forgiveness for our sin and a relationship with the Father.

JANUARY 30 – DEATH

1/30 John 11:37-45
But some said, “This man healed a blind man. Why couldn’t he keep Lazarus from dying?” 38 And again Jesus was deeply troubled. Then they came to the grave. It was a cave with a stone rolled across its entrance. 39 “Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man’s sister, said, “Lord, by now the smell will be terrible because he has been dead for four days.” 40 Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you will see God’s glory if you believe?” 41 So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. 42 You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so they will believe you sent me.” 43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And Lazarus came out, bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!” 45 Many of the people who were with Mary believed in Jesus when they saw this happen.

DEATH
Jesus has defeated our final enemy death. Death cannot defeat us. Life will not destroy us. Jesus is Lord.

JANUARY 29 – MOVED

1/29 John 11:34-36
“Where have you put him?” he asked them. They told him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Then Jesus wept. 36 The people who were standing nearby said, “See how much he loved him.”

MOVED
Jesus knows our sorrow and He is deeply moved by our need. We need Jesus. Every person you come into contact with needs Jesus. Jesus is Lord.
