Today's Good News

AUGUST 10 – SIGNS

08/10 John 4:43-45
At the end of the two days’ stay, Jesus went on into Galilee. 44 He had previously said, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own country.” 45 The Galileans welcomed him, for they had been in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration and had seen all his miraculous signs.
SIGNS
Jesus did many signs during His time in Galilee and Jerusalem. He died in Jerusalem for forgiveness of our sin and reconciliation with the Father-a free gift. To often we forget that and think we have to do everything for our self.
Don’t let the world overwhelm you, spend time with Jesus. He will open our eyes and give us a new heart that can comprehend the evil that we must face on an hour-by-hour time frame. The Lord is never surprised about what happens. We don’t have to fret and worry about what will happen because the Lord is here.

AUGUST 9 – SAVIOR

08/09 John 4:42
Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe because we have heard him ourselves, not just because of what you told us. He is indeed the Savior of the world.”
SAVIOR
Jesus is the Savior. He has come from the Father so that we might have life. He is intimately involved in every second of our life-He is Lord. We don’t make Him Lord because He is Lord of all. Praise the Lord. Amen.

AUGUST 8 – JESUS

08/08 John 4:39-41
Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!” 40 When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay at their village. So he stayed for two days, 41 long enough for many of them to hear his message and believe.
JESUS
Jesus desires to spend time with us. Do you have time to spend with Him? If you haven’t spent much time with Jesus let me encourage you to start now; and every day spend time with Jesus. It is critical for your growth to spend time with the Lord.

AUGUST 7 – WORK

08/07 John 4:36-38
The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! 37 You know the saying, ‘One person plants and someone else harvests.’ And it’s true. 38 I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and you will gather the harvest.”
WORK
The Lord assigns each one of us a life path that includes work. We are to be hard workers working as unto the Lord. In the daily process of our life we are to be fishers sharing our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ to everyone we encounter. Jesus is Lord and if we are growing our relationship with Jesus it will be easy to share with others what Christ is doing in us.

AUGUST 6 – SALVATION

08/06 John 4:34-35
Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. 35 Do you think the work of harvesting will not begin until the summer ends four months from now? Look around you! Vast fields are ripening all around us and are ready now for the harvest.
SALVATION
Salvation was walking with them and they knew it not. Today the world has control of the hearts and minds of mankind. Mankind is struggling for meaning and worth and value. People enslave others and themselves. All around us the downtrodden are starving for a Savior. Jesus is the ONE. He is our salvation. He will save us from sin and death and bring us into the Family of God. Ask Jesus to save you to keep you to guide you in the way you should go.

AUGUST 5 – SPIRITUAL

08/05 John 4:31-33
Meanwhile, the disciples were urging Jesus to eat. 32 “No,” he said, “I have food you don’t know about.” 33 “Who brought it to him?” the disciples asked each other.
SPIRITUAL
Until Jesus was resurrected we don’t see the disciples doing anything that indicated they knew Jesus was the Christ. His resurrection changed everything. The disciples became martyrs and spiritual leaders. They discovered what Jesus was talking about first-hand by obeying the Lord and doing what He called them to do. Let us gaze with intensity at Jesus and listen to Him and do what He says.

AUGUST 4 – TESTIFY

08/04 John 4:27-30
Just then his disciples arrived. They were astonished to find him talking to a woman, but none of them asked him why he was doing it or what they had been discussing. 28 The woman left her water jar beside the well and went back to the village and told everyone, 29 “Come and meet a man who told me everything I ever did! Can this be the Messiah?” 30 So the people came streaming from the village to see him.
TESTIFY
When you meet Jesus you can’t hold it in for it will burst out of your heart and through your mouth telling the world about our Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. He is incomparable. Nothing can compare with Him. No other event in the history of mankind even rivals His birth, life, death and resurrection defeating sin and death and is alive today seated at the right hand of the Father. Jesus is Lord.

AUGUST 3 – JESUS

08/03 John 4:25-26
The woman said, “I know the Messiah will come — the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” 26 Then Jesus told her, “I am the Messiah!”
JESUS
Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus is Lord. Jesus is God. Jesus is alive. He has defeated death and sits at the right hand of the Father. Praise the Lord for the Messiah has come and He has provided salvation and righteousness for us. Trust in Jesus for He is the only way to the Father.

AUGUST 2 – WHY?

08/02 John 4:19-25
“Sir,” the woman said, “you must be a prophet. 20 So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim, where our ancestors worshiped?” 21 Jesus replied, “Believe me, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father here or in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans know so little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews. 23 But the time is coming and is already here when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will worship him that way. 24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
WHY?
Why questions are always a ploy of our enemy the EVIL ONE. Don’t get side tracked worrying about why. Read the Bible. Do what you know. Serve the best you can. Trust the Lord. Always remember that God is always good! Always without exception God is good. Praise the Lord and worship Him.

AUGUST 1 – HURTING

08/01 John 4:15-18
“Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me some of that water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to haul water.” 16 “Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her. 17 “I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied. Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband — 18 for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now.”
HURTING
What do a hurting woman and a Jewish Rabbi have in common? Not anything without the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus knows your sorrow and He knows your need. He will not forsake you. Jesus will never let you go because He loves you.
