05/12 Matthew 6:27-30
Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not. 28 “And why worry about your clothes? Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you? You have so little faith!
TURN
Turn to Jesus. When you do let Him change your life, forgiving your sin and guiding you in the way you should go. Ask Jesus what you do next. He knows His plan for you and will give you strength and wisdom for the day.
05/11 Matthew 6:25-26
“So I tell you, don’t worry about everyday life — whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn’t life consist of more than food and clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.
WORRY
Worry breaks us down and suffocates our relationship with Jesus. Worry evidences lack of trust for the Lord. Worry blinds us to the needs of those around us. Don’t worry be happy. Jesus loves you and is seeking your best good. Don’t worry be happy.
05/10 Matthew 6:22-24
“Your eye is a lamp for your body. A pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. 23 But an evil eye shuts out the light and plunges you into darkness. If the light you think you have is really darkness, how deep that darkness will be! 24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
SEE
See the Lord’s activity in your life. See His intervention for you safety. Know Him better and you will be better equipped to understand this great love the Father has for you. Serve Jesus and Him only. Don’t get sidetracked by the world.
05/09 Matthew 6:19-21
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where they can be eaten by moths and get rusty, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where they will never become moth-eaten or rusty and where they will be safe from thieves. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.
TREASURE
We love the Lord and seek to do His will. We are to treasure the things of Christ and follow Him. Do not be swayed by the things of this world. Focus your mind and heart and actions on the things of Jesus. Store your treasures in heaven with Jesus.
05/08 Matthew 6:16-18
“And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, who try to look pale and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I assure you, that is the only reward they will ever get. 17 But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. 18 Then no one will suspect you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in secret. And your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.
FATHER
We talk to the Father to build a relationship with Him, to care for those in need and to equip us to serve Him. We don’t talk to the Father to impress others therefore when we are fasting and praying we need to make sure that we do it to relate to the Father. The Lord knows our heart.
05/07 Matthew 6:14-15
“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
FORGIVE
We sometimes waste a lot of time hating others. Withholding forgiveness from those that do wrong or bad things to us is wrong. Jesus calls us to forgive. When we forgive we discover real forgiveness in our own life. Forgive others that sin against you.
05/06 Matthew 6:11-13
Give us our food for today, 12 and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. 13 And don’t let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
TODAY
We live today. Now is when I need the Lord’s help. He works in our life in the present. What do you need? Ask the Lord. He will not overlook you. He will never be late. Jesus loves you.
05/05 Matthew 6:9-10
Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. 10 May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven.
PRAY
God is our father. He loves and cares for you. We believe in Him and therefore honor Him. We prepare our self for the future by living for him on the earth. Jesus is Lord.
05/04 Matthew 6:7-8
“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered only by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don’t be like them, because your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
HEARS
The Lord hears us when we speak to Him. He is our Father and seeking our best good. When you pray be sure to pray with the realization that the Lord Jesus is there with you and hears what you are saying.
05/03 Matthew 6:5-6
“And now about prayer. When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I assure you, that is all the reward they will ever get. 6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly. Then your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.
PRAY
It’s important that we understand after all of our study, all of our work the bottom line is that we are to pray. Pray to the Lord Jesus. He wants to spend time with you and your prayer connects you to Him. Pray that is the most important thing. Spend time with Jesus talking with Him about the needs of those you are traveling through life with and your own needs. We need the Lord therefore spend time with Jesus and He will spend time with you.
