2/1 Isaiah 38:1
About that time Hezekiah became deathly ill, and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to visit him. He gave the king this message: “This is what the LORD says: Set your affairs in order, for you are going to die. You will not recover from this illness.” 2 When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, 3 “Remember, O LORD, how I have always tried to be faithful to you and do what is pleasing in your sight.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly.
PRAYER
We look at our troubled situation and feel helpless. Hezekiah turned to the Lord. Turn to Jesus with your needs. Talk straight with Him because he already knows what you need. Jesus will not let you down.
1/31 John 3:36
And all who believe in God’s Son have eternal life. Those who don’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life, but the wrath of God remains upon them.”
LIFE
You and I have life because we have faith in Jesus that He will do what He says He will do. He said that He would give life to everyone that asked Him for forgiveness and believe in Him. Do not stumble over this easy access to the Father. Jesus paid with His life for us to become a part of the Family of God. Believe in Jesus. He loves you.
1/30 John 3:35
The Father loves his Son, and he has given him authority over everything.
FATHER
The Lord is not surprised at how hard life can be. He had a hard life and suffered just like we suffer and did so without sinning. When I think of my self centeredness and the willful way that I sin by doing my own thing I am humbled by how much the Lord Jesus cares for us. He is deeply loved by the Father. He can do all things and He chose to offer me and you grace. His grace means all to me. Jesus is Lord and His love changes me.
1/29 John 3:34
For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God’s Spirit is upon him without measure or limit.
JESUS
Fully God, fully man and He is totally committed to the Father. He and the Father are totally committed to us. Today this very moment the Lord is thinking about you. You can be confident that what you are doing and the struggles you are facing are important to the Lord and that He is in it together with you. Jesus loves you.
1/28 John 3:32-33
He tells what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! 33 Those who believe him discover that God is true.
TRUE
Everything the Lord tells you is true. He knows eternity from this moment. He is intimately knowledgeable about the past from this moment into eternity. Nothing is hidden from Jesus. Let Him have control of your life.
1/27 John 3:31
“He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. I am of the earth, and my understanding is limited to the things of earth, but he has come from heaven.
CHRIST JESUS
Christ Jesus came from the Father to us. He came to save us from ourselves. We are our own worst enemy. Let Jesus change your life. Let our precious Lord equip you for the work He created you for. Serve Jesus.
1/26 John 3:29
The bride will go where the bridegroom is. A bridegroom’s friend rejoices with him. I am the bridegroom’s friend, and I am filled with joy at his success. 30 He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.
JESUS
John the Baptist recognized the Savior. Think about your life. How are things? Jesus changes everything. He will affect your physical life and your spiritual life. He will give you a new heart that He will educate. Jesus changes everything in your life beginning right now. Ask Christ to deal with whatever obstacle or difficulty you are facing. Do not give up. Sometimes it takes a little while for the Lord to educate us.
1/25 John 3:27-28
John replied, “God in heaven appoints each person’s work. 28 You yourselves know how plainly I told you that I am not the Messiah. I am here to prepare the way for him — that is all.
WORK
God has a job for you to do. It isn’t my job or someone else’s job it is your job. Let the Lord use you to do those things that only you can do. Remember people count with Jesus and He sends us to minister to people.
1/24 John 3:25-26
At that time a certain Jew began an argument with John’s disciples over ceremonial cleansing. 26 John’s disciples came to him and said, “Teacher, the man you met on the other side of the Jordan River, the one you said was the Messiah, is also baptizing people. And everybody is going over there instead of coming here to us.”
JESUS
Jesus is the Son of God and he is alive today. Christ lives in us. John the Baptist saw what was happening and knew that Jesus was the Lord. Jesus began His work where He was just as we are called to do our work where we are. Dreaming about doing God’s work is not doing God’s work. Get busy. Do the work. Serve the Lord. Be changed.
1/23 John 3:23-24
At this time John the Baptist was baptizing at Aenon, near Salim, because there was plenty of water there and people kept coming to him for baptism. 24 This was before John was put into prison.
FAITHFULNESS
We are called to faithfulness. We surrender our life to let Jesus live in us. I am to spend time with Him so that I will know Him. If we ignore the Lord we will flail around in life. We won’t know where to go and what to do. If we focus on Jesus our life will take function as the Lord leads us. We can do nothing without Jesus.
