Today's Good News

OCT. 31 – GENESIS 28:15

10/31          Genesis 28:15

15 What’s more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.”

HERE

Our Lord God is here with us.

He will not leave us.

His objective is to bring us into His land.

His gift is faithfulness.

My focus is Him.

Praise the Lord God Almighty, He is our Savior.

OCT. 30 – 1 KINGS 8:57

10/30          1 Kings 8:57

57 May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us.

ALWAYS

His promise: I will always be with you.

My prayer:  That I will always depend on His promise.

Seek the Lord while He may be found.

Never walk away from Him.

Seek His face every day.

Commit your way to Him.

He will never abandon you.

OCT. 29 – JOSHUA 1:5

10/29          Joshua 1:5

5 No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.

TWO

This is two promises.

Immediately to Joshua.

In Christ, to us.

God promises us, His children,

He will always be with us,

He will not ever leave us,

And He will not fail us.

God does not lie nor does He change His mind.

OCT. 28 – NUM. 23:19

10/28          Numbers 23:19

19 God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

WE

We lie.

We are human with limited intelligence and plenty of ignorance.

God knows the right thing to do and does, He does not change.

God does what He says, always.

Every promise God makes is a promise with yes.

We are human and don’t know the future,

Often don’t know the right thing to do,

And are always changing our minds.

We break promises and sometimes make promises we cannot keep.

God is perfect.

We are not in any way perfect.

OCT. 27 – 1 PET. 5:8-10

10/27          1 Peter 5:8-10

8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers[a] all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

10 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

BE

Be alert.

Be on your guard.

Be faithful in prayer.

Be the Lord’s strong servant.

Be humble.

Be.

OCT. 26 – EPH. 6:10-17

10/26          Ephesians 6:10-17

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.  13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

STAND

Stand in the face of evil.

Claim all the resources the Lord puts at your disposal.

Many days we will need everything the Lord provides to us to stand.

The Lord has outfitted you as a capable soldier in the spiritual realm.

Be faithful.

Be courageous.

Be prayerful.

Be available.

The Lord will bless and equip you to fight the good fight.

Jesus is Lord.

OCT. 25 – EPH. 3:14-19

10/25          Ephesians 3:14-19

14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

LOVE

Love the Lord, without reservation.

Seek His companionship.

Spend time with Him.

Pray faithfully for your brothers and sisters.

Care for others.

You will discover the love of the Lord growing in you.

It will touch you deeply and will equip you to serve others.

We cannot plumb the depths of Jesus love but we can certainly try.

OCT. 24 – ROM. 1:11-12

10/24          Romans 1:11-12

11 For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. 12 When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.

EACH

Each of us need encouragement.

The world is vicious and chaotic.

A day can be a downer.

Be an encourager.

You will discover encouragement as you help others.

OCT. 23 – ACTS 14:21-22

10/23          Acts 14:21-22

21 After preaching the Good News in Derbe and making many disciples, Paul and Barnabas returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch of Pisidia, 22 where they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.

ENCOURAGE

Encourage one another.

Life is hard and we need encouragement.

Care for each other, we need friends, and we need to be a friend.

Friends are special and very important in our faith journey.

Remember, the best way to have friends is to be a friend.

We find great joy and satisfaction in helping others.

OCT. 22 – LK. 22:31-32

10/22          Luke 22:31-32

31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. 32 But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.”

JESUS

Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us.

Jesus loves us more than we love ourself.

Jesus is our guarantee.

He will never leave us.

He will always seek the best for us.

Jesus, our Lord is our protector.

HE is looking for our best good.

Know Him Better by spending more time with Him.

Seek the Lord.
