Today's Good News

AUG. 24 – HEBREWS 2:2

8/24            Hebrews 2:2

2 For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished.

COMPLETE

HIS word is complete in every way.

He is Lord and we are not.

Praise the Lord for His great love for us.

Praise the Lord that He birthed us into His kingdom in Christ.

We love you Lord.

AUG. 23 – JOB 38:4-7

8/23            Job 38:4-7

4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?
Tell me, if you know so much.
5 Who determined its dimensions
and stretched out the surveying line?
6 What supports its foundations,
    and who laid its cornerstone
7 as the morning stars sang together
and all the angels[a] shouted for joy?

WHERE

I wasn’t there.

I have no clue.

I’ve talked about things I didn’t know about.

Forgive me Lord.

I bend my knee to you.

You Lord are King of the Universe.

You know all things.

Forgive me.

Take control of my life.

And give me life, in Christ.  Amen.

AUG. 22 – GAL. 3:19

8/22            Galatians 3:19

19 Why, then, was the law given? It was given alongside the promise to show people their sins. But the law was designed to last only until the coming of the child who was promised. God gave his law through angels to Moses, who was the mediator between God and the people.

CHILD

The Son of God was coming.

He would be the Messiah.

He would turn his people from their sin.

He would provide forgiveness and reconciliation for God and man.

We would become part of God’s family-His children.

Jesus the Messiah would be our elder brother.

Praise God who came to us in the flesh.

Praise God for He is always good and He loves us.

Praise God.

AUG. 21 – ACTS 7:53

8/21            Acts 7:53

53 You deliberately disobeyed God’s law, even though you received it from the hands of angels.”

SIN

Sin grabs our mind.

It pulls us away from God.

We do it willingly.

It darkens our minds.

Confess sin quickly and learn to not do it again.

When you do, stop sinning, repent, return to God.

AUG. 20 – HEBREWS 1:14

8/20            Hebrews 1:14

14 Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.

MESSENGERS

Angels, God’s messengers do only what the Lord tells them to do.

Yes, the Saved have an angel watching over them,

But do not pray to angels, they will ignore you!

Pray to God, He is in charge.

The angels do what He says.

AUG. 19 – 1 PETER 3:22

8/19            1 Peter 3:22

22 Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority.

MAN

Only man and the fallen angels ignore God.

His greatness is evident everywhere.

All creation trembles longingly for His return.

Only man ignores the signs of the times.

Do so at your risk, Jesus is coming back,

To take His children home.

AUG. 18 – PSALM 32:8

8/18            Psalm 32:8

8 The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.

HELP

The Lord God Almighty offers help for living.

He will help us with our life.

There is no standard formula to follow, we just focus on Jesus.

We do that by reading the Word of God,

Praying to the Lord God, and

Listening as He guides us every perilous step of the way,

Until we are at home with Him.

AUG. 17 – ROMANS 12:18

8/17            Romans 12:18

18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.

FORGIVE

Respect others.

Forgive those who mistreat you.

Say little.

Listen.

Love the Lord.

It will go well with you and you will have peace.

AUG. 16 – ACTS 2:38

8/16            Acts 2:38

38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

DEVOTION

We love God.

Jesus saved us.

We follow Jesus and we will be baptized.

Jesus is Lord.

AUG. 15 – 1 PETER 3:9

8/15            1 Peter 3:9

9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.

ONE WAY

Jesus calls us to proclaim the Gospel.

By the way we live.

By the way we love.

With our mouth.

By forgiving.

Love one another.
