Today's Good News

OCTOBER 13 – SIN

10/13 Psalm 15:2-5
Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to slander others or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those who despise persistent sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the LORD and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who do not charge interest on the money they lend, and who refuse to accept bribes to testify against the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.
SIN
Sins are symptoms of sin. Sin is refusing to acknowledge God-doing life on our own. Sins are the actions that sinners take. It is impossible for us to get free of sin. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death. When we ask Christ into our heart He cleanses us from all sin, freeing us from bondage to sin. Christ frees us from sin but when we do sin as soon as we recognize our sin we should confess it and stop it. Jesus loves us and will walk with us minute by minute each day. When we are in His presence it is easy to recognize our sins and to quickly change.

OCTOBER 12 – WHO

10/12 Psalm 15:1
A psalm of David. Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?
WHO
Christ is our righteousness. He is the reason we can some into the presence of the Lord. Who can worship in the Lord’s sanctuary: all who are saved can. Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

OCTOBER 11 – PROTECT

10/11 Psalm 14:6-7
The wicked frustrate the plans of the oppressed, but the LORD will protect his people. Oh, that salvation would come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel! For when the LORD restores his people, Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice.
PROTECT
The Lord will protect you. You can believe this. You can talk with the Lord about this for He loves you deeply. Live your life with a Godward attitude seeking to constantly be in His presence. Listen to Jesus. Seek His guidance and comfort for He cares for you.

OCTOBER 10 – EVIL

10/10 Psalm 14:4-5
Will those who do evil never learn? They eat up my people like bread; they wouldn’t think of praying to the LORD. Terror will grip them, for God is with those who obey him.
EVIL
Evil is an active force in the world. It is never satisfied to sit by and watch things instead it is aggressively seeking to destroy good. Be careful. You can have confidence that your Father knows what evil is doing and He loves you. Be encouraged and thank the Lord for His concern for you.

OCTOBER 9 – GOOD

10/9 Psalm 14:2-3
The LORD looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if there is even one with real understanding, one who seeks for God. But no, all have turned away from God; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not even one!
GOOD
Do you want to do good? Surrender you life to Jesus Christ. God is good. When we come to Christ we become part of the family of God and take on the righteousness of Christ. God is our father and we are His children therefore we have inherited good as a part of our character.

OCTOBER 8 – SIN

10/8 Psalm 14:1
For the choir director: A psalm of David. Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; no one does good!
SIN
No one does good. All of us depend on the goodness of God for our life. He provides life for us in Jesus Christ. Christ died for our sin and gives us righteousness. He is alive. We worship a risen Savior. Jesus is Lord and He provides life and light for us. Without Jesus we do not have life. Thank God for Jesus Christ.

OCTOBER 7 – LOVE

10/7 Psalm 13:5
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the LORD because he has been so good to me.

God loves you. He loves you with full knowledge of who you are and what you have done and are doing. Jesus knows you better than you know yourself. Rejoice for the Lord is good to you. Remember the times He cared for you. Be thankful and feel His presence.

OCTOBER 6 – DISCOURAGEMENT

10/6 Psalm 13:3-4
Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the light to my eyes, or I will die. Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my downfall.
DISCOURAGEMENT
Discouragement is a real enemy. Do not underestimate its ability to overwhelm you. Life is sometimes confusing and difficult but the Lord will not desert you. Hang on and let the Lord redeem your situation. Jesus is Lord.

OCTOBER 5 – DISCOURAGEMENT

10/5 Psalm 13:1-2
For the choir director: A psalm of David. O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand?
DISCOURAGEMENT
Discouragement is a hard enemy to overcome. At one time or another all of us will have to face it. When you do immediately call on Jesus. You cannot fight it alone. Discouragement will take you down and trounce you. Ask the Lord to intervene. Tell Him how much you are hurting. Jesus is with you.

OCTOBER 4 – HEAR

10/4 Colossians 3:24-25
Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites who can get away with evil.
HEAR
Hear what the Lord is saying. We belong to Jesus but we are to be careful how we live. God doesn’t play favorites, each one of us is special to Him. You are favored of God but never overlooked.
