AUGUST 12 – JUSTICE

8/12 Psalm 9:6-8
My enemies have met their doom; their cities are perpetual ruins. Even the memory of their uprooted cities is lost. But the LORD reigns forever, executing judgment from his throne. He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness.
JUSTICE
The Lord knows all things from the beginning to the end. Only the Lord can mete out justice. Take great care in how you criticize, condemn and complain. What we perceive as justice isn’t. We don’t know the whole story. We cannot understand what is taking place on the stage of life therefore we must take great care in how we deal with and adjudicate others. Be careful who you condemn. The Lord is the only righteous judge.

AUGUST 11 – FATHER

8/11 Psalm 9:4-5
For you have judged in my favor; from your throne, you have judged with fairness. You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have wiped out their names forever.
FATHER
The Lord loves His children and I am one of them. I claim Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life for He had forgiven my sin and bestowed His righteousness upon me. The Lord takes my pain and difficulties seriously. He will mete out His justice one day and His justice will operate on my behalf for in Christ I am forgiven. I do not rejoice in the destruction of anyone or anything instead I rejoice in Jesus.

AUGUST 10 – JOY

8/10 Psalm 9:2-3
I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. My enemies turn away in retreat; they are overthrown and destroyed before you.
JOY
We have lasting joy from the presence of God in our life. He indwells us. He is involved in our day to day life. The Lord is knows in a way that is more intimate than anything we can think say or do because He knows everything in a way that we cannot comprehend. The Lord is good and His every thought towards us is good. Therefore I have His joy in me. He first loved me.

AUGUST 9 – REMEMBER

8/9 Psalm 9:1
For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be sung to the tune “Death of the Son.” I will thank you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.
REMEMBER
Remember the things the Lord has done in your life. Keep a prayer list and note when the Lord answers your prayers. Remember these things you write down. When things are difficult turn to your remembrances and recite them. See what marvelous things the Lord has done in your life.

AUGUST 8 – NAME

8/8 Psalm 8:5-9
For you made us only a little lower than God, and you crowned us with glory and honor. You put us in charge of everything you made, giving us authority over all things — the sheep and the cattle and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents. O LORD, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!
NAME
On the final day of the world every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. His majesty is beyond compare. How can a creature such as myself begin to proclaim the magnificence of the Lord? By recognizing what I can of our glorious Lord, submitting my heart to Him and serving Him all the days of my life.

AUGUST 7 – LORD

8/7 Psalm 8:3-4
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers — the moon and the stars you have set in place — what are mortals that you should think of us, mere humans that you should care for us?
LORD
It is hard for us to care for those that wrong us. It is hard to forgive the one that creates chaos and difficulty in our life. Jesus cares for each one of us and He forgives us. He died for our sin that we might have life. What great gift can one give than to die for another even those that hated Him.

AUGUST 6 – LORD

8/6 Psalm 8:1-2
For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by a stringed instrument. O LORD, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and nursing infants to give you praise. They silence your enemies who were seeking revenge.
LORD
Mighty, gracious and all wise Lord is always every moment concerned about our welfare. He never sleeps. He never misses anything in our life. God is good all the time. Seek the Lord and He will be found. Do not wallow in fear and despair seek the Lord.

AUGUST 5 – LORD

8/5 Psalm 7:14-17
The wicked conceive evil; they are pregnant with trouble and give birth to lies. They dig a pit to trap others and then fall into it themselves. They make trouble, but it backfires on them. They plan violence for others, but it falls on their own heads. I will thank the LORD because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
LORD
The Lord is wonderful, amazing, faithful, all knowing, worthy of all praise and He is concerned about each one of us. He does not think like we think. His ways are high above our ways. We serve a loving and caring Lord.

AUGUST 4 – REPENT

8/4 Psalm 7:12-13
If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. He will prepare his deadly weapons and ignite his flaming arrows.
REPENT
We try to gloss over our sin. We want our own way. It is hard for us to confront the fact that we are a sinner and that sin comes so easily to each one of us. Jesus calls us to confront our sin, renounce it and turn away from that sin. Let the Lord reveal you sin and when He does agree with Him that you did it and now will turn away from it. Repent.

AUGUST 3 – FEAR

8/3 Psalm 7:9-11
End the wickedness of the ungodly, but help all those who obey you. For you look deep within the mind and heart, O righteous God. God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right. God is a judge who is perfectly fair. He is angry with the wicked every day.
FEAR
Our society creates a mindset where we fear the shadows and ignore the truth. The shadows consist of the attacks of the enemy in our minds and our own sense of insecurity at anything that appears to be harmful. We fear most the bodily harm that could befall us. Our real fear should be reserved for the One that can destroy us forever. Fear God that is the beginning of wisdom. God responded to our fear in Jesus Christ. He gives us His righteousness and cures the fear we would otherwise feel in the presence of a Holy God.
