JUNE 16 – MT. 25:35-40

06/16          Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 

36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ 

37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 

38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 

39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

HANDS AND FEET

We are the hands and feet of Jesus.  

We are called to care for the poor, 

Care for widows and orphans,  

Go and love one another,

In such a way that it impacts

Everyone we meet.  

Jesus is Lord of all that we have and are.

42 Give to those who ask, and don’t turn away from those who want to borrow.

COMMUNITY

We live in community.

To the world we are united into one body-the church.

Love one another.

Help one another.

Take care of the poor.  

JUNE 14 – PROV. 31:8-9

06/14          Proverbs 31:8-9

8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. 

9 Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.

JUSTICE

Justice for the poor is important to the Lord. 

He calls us to help where we can.

He calls us to help even if it costs us. 

Sometimes it will cost dearly. 

Help the poor and mistreated-make sure justice is given.  

JUNE 13 – PROV. 21:13

06/13          Proverbs 21:13

13 Those who shut their ears to the cries of the poor will be ignored in their own time of need.

NEED

Christians meet the need of those around them. 

Helping those at a distance, people we don’t know,

Isn’t a blessing if we don’t help those we see and can know.  

People need people. 

We are our brother’s keeper.  

JUNE 12 – PROV. 19:17

17 If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD — and he will repay you!

LENDING

Take care of the poor.

This is a command with a promise.

The Lord Himself will be in our debt,

And He will repay us.  

Lending to the Lord is a wise action. 

Follow Jesus.

Do unto others.

Christ is King.  

JUNE 11 – ISAIAH 1:17

06/11          Isaiah 1:17

17 Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.

PEOPLE

People in need,

Have a friend in us.  

We care and we will do the next right thing.  

Jesus is Lord.  

JUNE 10 – DEUT. 15:11

06/10          Deuteronomy 15:11

11 There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

CARE

We are to care for our brothers and sisters.

People count with the Lord.

We are His people.

People count with us.

Do unto others as you would have them do for you.  

Share, watch out for and tend to the needs of others.

24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

CONVERSATION

Let your conservation be about Jesus.

How much He loves us.

What He does for us.

Always focused on us.

He is always with us.

10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

SERVE

Serve others.  You serve others.  The Lord did not call us to a life of privilege but instead to a life of service.  Jesus is Lord.  

JUNE 7 – GAL. 6:10

06/07          Galatians 6:10

10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

VALUE

Everyone has value.  You and I are called to treat others the way we want to be treated.  People need Jesus.  Share the Gospel.  Help them along the way.  Do good to those that mistreat us.  Pray for others.  Jesus put us here to be His hands and feet.
