Today's Good News

JUNE 6 – GAL. 6:2

06/06          Galatians 6:2

2 Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.

COUNT

People count.  People need each other.  Learn to share another’s burden and help them along the way.

JUNE 5 – GAL. 5:13-14

06/05          Galatians 5:13-14

13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

DIFFERENT

We are different than the world.

God’s people are called to salt and light.

We tell the truth, bearing testimony to Jesus.

We love others and sacrifice ourselves to care for them.

Be Christ to the multitudes.

The world is a hard place.

People need Jesus.

JUNE 4 – ROMANS 12:13

06/04          Romans 12:13

When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.

HELP

Help God’s people.

Always-especially when they are in need.

Practice hospitality.

Care for the lost.

Care for the down and out.

Care for children and widows.

People need Jesus.

You are His hands and feet.

JUNE 3 – JOHN 15:12

06/03          John 15:12

This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.

JESUS

Jesus loves you.

He loved you so much that while you were lost He died for you.

He knows all about you and still loves you.

He forgives our sin and wants to be with us.

Love Him.

We are His hands and feet.

Love one another, like Jesus loves us.

JUNE 2 – JOHN 13:12-14

06/02          John 13:12-14

12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing?

13 You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.

14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.

STINKY

Washing stinky feet-do it.

Caring for others where they are.

Doing for others, not what we want to do, but what they need done.

Love Jesus, love our brother.

They will know us by our love for one another.

JUNE 1 – MT. 20:26-28

06/01          Matthew 20:26-28

26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,

27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave.

28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

SERVE

Christ calls us to life giving service.

It’s not for a day but for life.

When we serve it destroys our arrogance.

Humility leads us closer to Jesus.

Bend the knee, serve others.

Christ will walk with you.

MAY 31 – 1 PETER 4:10-11

05/31               1 Peter 4:10-11

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

GLORY

GOD is glorious.

Bring honor and recognition to His greatness, His magnificence.

Make Him known.

MAY 30 – 1 PETER 3:15-16

05/30               1 Peter 3:15-16

Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.

16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

ACTIONS

Our actions speak loudly.

Make sure that your behavior is Christ like.

MAY 29 – 1 PETER 2:9-10

05/29               1 Peter 2:9-10

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

10 “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”

HAVE

We have Jesus.

He gives us mercy, grace and life.

He leads us in His victory.

He saves us to serve.

Love Him and love one another.

Jesus is Lord.

Take great pride in serving Him, honoring Him, HE is God Almighty and there is no other.

MAY 28 – HEB. 12:1-2

05/28               Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

JESUS

Jesus loves you.

He is seated at the right hand of God.

Interceding for you.

Listening to you.

Tell Him everything-He provides you with everything.

Jesus is Lord.

Follow Him.

He will always be with you.
